Enterprise Rent-A-Car
500 James Fowler Rd, Santa Barbara, CA 93117, United States
I have used Enterprise Rent-a-car for many years, at least 15-20. I have always had good reliable service. On my last rental there were some initial problems... I had let them know that I would be arriving to pick up the car at 6p, and we arrived a little early so I went straight to the Enterprise desk only to find it closed! I was a bit peeved... We Ubered to our home, and returned the next day to pick u the car. They said I would be reimbursed for the Uber rides. The next problem occurred on our way to go to a Wine Tasting in Lompoc, and several miles short of our destination the Low fuel light came on, much to my frustration as it is a remote area, and it never occurred to me that the tank would be empty when I picked it up!! I called and voiced my displeasure immediately, and was later texted back by the Branch Manager, Ivy. She let me know that they would be refunding a good portion of my charges to cover the gas, and the cost of the Ubers, and then some. I was very appreciative, and she gave me her phone number in case I needed anything else. This is what I call good customer service! I was ready to end my relationship with Enterprise, but was impressed with their handling of the situation. Ivy, it should be noted, saved Enterprise a long time customer, who will now return for future business. Please acknowledge this exemplary employee for retaining my loyalty to Enterprise. I am fully aware that stuff happens, but she turned a bad situation around, and made me happy. THAT is good customer service!

U-Haul of Santa Barbara
4417 Hollister Ave, Santa Barbara, CA 93110, United States
Worst experience ever!! From the start I should have known this was not going to go well. Long short, rented truck from Ventura, called day before to pick up in SB, ding ding red flag. Now they did compensate for the miles to pick it up so we accommodated the inconvenience. 45 mins into our 300mile trip up north, the truck breaks down! My husband sat on the side of the road for 8 hours first waiting for roadside assistance, then a tow truck to take it to a location to have alllll our items repacked into a new truck. (Which the uninsured unlicensed company they sent damaged all of our wood items and washer/dryer then denied it) Meanwhile myself, sister, 2 dogs, my 2 year old and 5 month old arrive at our new house with no items to sleep on or fridge to put food in. Uhual puts us in a dirty, drug deals in the parking lot Ramada for the night while my husband drives over night 8 hours so that we have our things to move in the next day.Now a sane mind would think there would be some financial compensation for the loss of an entire work day for my husband ($300), the food expenses that accompanied not being in our home (roughly $70 for the 2 days) and a broken down truck we paid $1000 for...think again! I spent a total month getting the run around, this department, that department, the manager of the location completely Ignoring my messages, all for a rep to tell me uhh sorry nothing we can do about the movers damaging all of your wood items, you signed a waiver (like I was going to have my husband load a 26ft truck by himself :/), and ya you returned the truck on time (it was over a weekend) so there isnt grounds for a refund....seriously?!If I thought I could get any reasonable response I would continue, but it doesnt sound like I can do anything to convince them that this was not a $1000 moving experience we paid for. Absolutely shocked people can do business this way. Please take the warnings of these reviews and DO NOT rent a moving truck from here :(

U-Haul Storage of Santa Barbara
4101 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93110, United States
I have been storing here for almost a year. I often leave messages for Stacy the manager, that take weeks to return.I chose a unit that had elevator access. However, the elevator has been broken for over 3 months now and they say they have tried to repair but they cant get the parts. I was given a discount for 1 month of $20.When I asked again about the elevator situation, I was told that it was not going to be fixed and that I cant get a discount again. The young man also said lucky to have the unit I have. (Really?) He then told me that they were going to remove the elevator from the other building.I am very upset about this since I specifically chose this place because I could put my stuff on an elevator instead of going up and down stairs. I am a middle aged woman. In addition, when I went to get some of stuff out of my unit, 3 weeks ago, all my stuff in the front of the unit was covered in saw dust. They had just repaired the floor outside my unit and mustve have cut the boards right there. Needless to say, this is not what I would want or expect.I am waiting now for 3 weeks for Stacy to return my calls. I have left multiple messages.I am looking into renting from another business in town.Follow-up: at 1:30pm today Stacy finally called me. She was defensive and said she tried calling me several times and left messages. I did not have any voice mails and only 1 missed call from last week. She kept saying shes done all she could do for me and that it wasnt enough. I responded by saying, that it seems like all you want to do for me is tell you cant do anything for me.She didnt apologize for the sawdust in my unit, for the attitude of her staff (Enrique). She is a nice person, I believe, but she does NOT know how to run a business or treat her customers. She did not even TRY to address 1 of my concerns. All she wanted to do was be defensive and make excuses. I will be moving out this week.DO NOT RENT STORAGE FROM THIS PLACE!

Ians Tire & Auto Repair
4299 1/2, 4299 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93110, United States
Updated 6/22/2021: I had a water pump go out in my car the day after I went in for an oil change (It is not their fault, just happens to be a coincidence) They got me in when I cam back from a vacation and let me know how long It could be for them to look at it. After they looked at the problem they said they do not fix water pumps, but referred me to a mechanic that does. To me, I felt they hear my concern and incorporated it to communicate with their customer, and I had a great experience this time around!Came here for a 2:00pm reservation for oil change and Tire Rotation, with their website saying Award for Best Quick Oil Change in 2020, and I estimated it would take an hour to hour and half max for the oil change if they were busy, but it ended up taking 2 hours and 15 minutes of me sitting there. I was not told or notified it could take this long and their website did not say it would take this long. After Talking with the owner, he said they plan for oil changes to take a maximum of 2 and a half hours. If I knew this, I would have arranged a ride ( but I feel also unnecessary if you make a reservation). I am a bit irritated that this was not communicated either by them or their website when I made the reservation or during the entire time I was there. The owner was understanding and listened, and I got the oil change and tire rotation done, and it looked like it was done well.

Sierra Property Management
5290 Overpass Rd Bldg C, Santa Barbara, CA 93111, United States
Overall, very disappointed in the service Ive received during my two years as a resident. I moved in with bed bugs and cockroaches already infesting the apartment. While they were prompt at ridding the place of the bugs, they were far from prompt when installing the dishwasher we had been promised towards the end of our first year. After a rent increase of $100/month for no apparent reason, its the end of our second year and we still have not received said dishwasher. When I complained about the laundry and dryer machines poorly cleaning clothes and leaving them with a weird residue (pictures included in my email showing the severity of the issue), they simply told me to contact the washer company myself as there was nothing they could do (that was over a year ago and we still do not have new washers or dryers). I had to complain multiple times over a three month period about the poor water pressure and temperature issues with our shower before maintenance finally showed up to resolve the issue. To this day our water temperature still refuses to cooperate. I have to say though, that the maintenance team is probably the only redeeming quality of the entire company. Finally, after pleading with them to grant us a ONE day extension on our lease so that we wouldnt have to move out on the day of graduation, they apologized for the inconvenience but said that there was (again) nothing they could do because it apparently is impossible to reschedule with cleaning vendors (there is a 10 day gap between us moving out and the new residents moving in). I think its ridiculous that after having been there for so long, having paid rent on time every month, and having had to deal with various issues, they couldnt be bothered to make even the slightest attempt at granting us 24 more hours. This perfectly encapsulates just how little Sierra seems to care about its residents.

Dollar Car Rental
500 James Fowler Rd, Santa Barbara, CA 93117, United States
I set a car reservation for 9am the other day. I called the number provided at 7am the morning of the ask if there was a car available to pick up sooner. First of all, it's strange that it's impossible to get in contact with the physical SB Airport Dollar instead of a call center in another country. The lady obviously had no idea whether they had the car or not and suggested showing up 15 mins early, which didn't help me. I showed up at 11 to pick up the car and was told it wasn't ready and to wait about 45mins for a call. I have never in my life had to wait for a rental car I reserved. I wish he would have told me this before swiping my credit card so I could have gone to any number of the other car rental places that were getting people in and out. I mean, Dollar is seriously the car rental version of Spirit Airlines, it's trash. Needless to say, the rude customer service guy never called me so I went back up to the counter an hour later. He had no clue who I was. He ended up giving me a car that was just returned, not cleaned or checked out, and “the lady said the tank was full.” Well that lady lucked out because the tank was half full but I'd rather eat that than continue sitting and waiting to get my day started. Dollar is extremely unprofessional in their actions and in their customer service. I won't make the mistake of choosing them again.

Santa Barbara Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat
300 Hitchcock Way, Santa Barbara, CA 93105, United States
Santa Barbara Dodge (3 ½ stars out of 50 reviews, not good). I purchased my Dodge Ram in Ventura. A few months later I notice white puffs of smoke from the tail pipe. I brought it into the Santa Barbara Dodge location to their service department. They quickly diagnosed the problem as being a quart over filled with oil (that's how I got it). They changed out the oil, checked the rest of the vehicle, and called me to come pick it up. No charge as it was covered by the warranty. I was told to come back every 1,000 miles for the next 5,000 miles for an inspection to insure the problem was fixed and so it could be documented to protect my power train warranty. I was very happy with my first three visits. Months later I made an appointment because my digital speedometer was not matching up with my physical speedometer. It was also time for my fourth inspection for the oil issue. This time I was “helped” by a gentleman named Able. I informed Able of the oil inspection that needed to be done and told him there should be detailed notes in their system as the service department previously took this issue very seriously and documented everything (wish I could remember who it was I dealt with before because they were fantastic). Ten minutes after dropping of my vehicle I called to see if my truck was under warranty as I knew it was close. Able informed me it was under a power train warranty but the bumper to bumper had fallen off so the inspection for my speedometer would need to be paid for out of pocket. I then asked if he located the notes about the oil inspections. Able told me he had only one record of my vehicle being inspected for the oil issue and that was the original service for the issue over a year ago. I told Able I was concerned that the lack of documentation would affect my warranty because that is what I was previously told by Dodge. This is also why I have been taking my time to monitor my mileage and take the time to carefully follow Dodges instructions so that the integrity of the warranty would be preserved. Able told me again he had no record of any inspections and put it back on me asking if I had saved the paper copy of my services invoices. I told him no. He told me that every service Dodge does they give the customer an invoice and if I had kept the invoice then I would have a record. Able told me I could bring them in for him to document if I had them. He told me that he would check the oil for me and that there was no need to come in for any further inspections regarding the oil. This was frustrating and I strongly feel Able needs to be remediated in customer care and encouraged to complete due diligence (do your homework) before tackling an unfamiliar issue with a customer. The services department as a whole plays an integral role to the customer….the consumer. Knowing this, and after reading the reviews (3 ½ stars out of 50 reviews, not good) of the service department, I see a major missed opportunity by the local Santa Barbara Dodge dealer owner in fixing this problem. I have been in town for 27 years, been driving Dodge Rams for 20 of those, and I don't mind paying a little more to my local owners but this doesn't mean they get to do less. You can do better! Be professional, be courteous, know your craft, and be friendly. Dodge owner, if you need a local dealership to model after try Perry Ford (4 ½ stars out of 800 reviews, excellent). Purchased my wife a new Ford three years ago from Perry Ford and they, as a whole, are always super helpful and know their skill set. For future customers of Santa Barbara Dodge, apparently you need to save your paper copies of your invoices in case something goes sideways.
