Fox Rent A Car Oakland
7660 Earhart Rd, Oakland, CA 94603, United States
I rented a Chrysler 300 and it was a beautiful car, quite fast and smooth to drive and less than 4,000 miles on this 2017 model. I had a different drop off location and the rental fee was much cheaper than others. Example: 11 day rental was $350 including drop off fee, Enterprise wanted $800+ for compact car, Dollar was $1,700+ for compact car. Anyway I was about to go buy a car for those prices! But Fox Rent-A-Car was easy to book a premium car at reasonable rates.Staff were very friendly, when I left the parking lot when the staff checked my paperwork he was super nice and said thank you for renting with them and it was very genuine, never really had that anywhere else so Im impressed.Customers were very demanding and some even shouting whilst I was there. So yes if you must have that Toyota Corolla definitely go with another rental company. Some of the more popular models did appear a bit more used and yes they do not have a huge selection at the Oakland CA location. For a premium model, great prices and those cars appear in good shape. Be flexible on the car you get. After all you are saving good money over the others. And it happens to all rental car agencies. I booked at Hertz once a SUV and ended up with some mini-Opel with a small engine. I was definitely not happy. Some cars are clean, some are not. Some cars meet your expectations while others dont. Ask what car choices you have and if you can go see them first. Make a strategy, have a few different bookings with different rental agencies and different classes then when its time to rent go see what car they have then go ahead with the best option for you. Most car rental bookings online have free cancellation or no credit card required so spend the extra time in advance to avoid the problems.I will gladly rent again and I recommend.

... have ever experienced. The woman who greeted me was beyond rude. I provided her with my drivers license and proof that I worked with California Rural Legal Assistance. My rental was through CRLA and she DEMANDED that I provide her with CRLAs insurance agency or I would not be allowed to take my rental car. I told her that I did not have that information and that I had rented a car from the same location in April and that I was not required to provide that information. She replied curtly, The policy had changed in May so if you cant provide the insurance information we will not rent to you. I replied that I made the reservation online four days before I was to pick up the car and the was no warning online that I was to provide that information upon picking up the car. If I had been advised in advance of picking up the car-or had been required to provide the information while making the reservation I would have done so, but that it was unfair to expect to me provide the information without prior warning. She left and brought the manager who was equally rude. He again demanded the insurance information from me and said there would be no rental without me giving him the information. I said that that information was available with our corporate account with Enterprise and that he should have access to it. He repeatedly insisted that he had no access to that information and that there was NOBODY at Enterprise he could possibly contact to get that information. He insisted that I must contact someone at CRLA to provide that information or they would not rent to me and he and the rude Enterprise greeter (Nini or Neenee?) then disappeared for the next ten minutes. I called CRLAs finance team and they advised me that Oakland Enterprise was the only Enterprise that SPORADICALLY was requesting organizational insurance information. The rude greeter returned and as I told her that I had the insurance information she curtly replied to me, Oh, we have that information ...

Problem: I had a car accident. My wallet was stolen. I didnt have my drivers license, but my insurance covers a car rental. My wife was leaving town. We needed the rental car, and I needed to be able to drive it.Solution: My wife is on the same policy, so she rents the car and I can drive it!Totally made up red tape from the people at the rental agency: Im not authorized to drive the car unless they have a valid drivers license on file.Four hours of me getting a temporary drivers license and my wife running the errands I was supposed to run before she leaves later...Solution: I have temporary drivers license, can we add my to my wifes rental?Answer from more knowledgeable employee: Youre automatically signed up to drive a car your spouse rents in the state of CA.Rating: 1 star.
Budget Truck Rental

Staff was rushed and unprofessional. He wheeled out 75 lbs. of furniture pads and told me to take it to the truck and lift it in there myself. He also didnt come out to inspect the vehicle with me and just said it was good to go. On top of that, I didnt even use the furniture pads and they charged me anyway for them.Next, he parked the trucks too closely together which caused me to break the driver side mirror of the truck next to mine when I pulled out of the parking spot, and then lied to the investigator that the trucks werent too close together. Budget is now charging me $245 for liability purposes because I was in the driver seat. I literally put the truck in drive, let my foot off the gas, and then the mirrors collided - not even three feet from where I started the truck... They do not care about their customers voices and definitely do not follow up seriously when a dispute is made. One of the National Risk Managers I spoke to at Budget said, ..if we go to court we will win, but its not worth going to court over. Basically saying that Budget has no liability over their employees decisions and actions because I signed paperwork.Overall, I am never renting form Budget again for taking advantage of their customers, being deceitful, and unprofessional. Truly upsetting. I hope Budget re-evaluates their operational procedures and their customer service, from top to bottom, so this doesnt happen again.

Im immensely thankful for the fantastic experience I had with this agency. I made an advance booking and payment, and although I had to wait around 10 minutes for the clerk, they made up for it by generously providing a complimentary upgrade when the compact cars were unavailable. The return process was equally seamless, taking just about 5 minutes. The only minor bump in the road was waiting approximately 15 minutes for the booth attendant to arrive at the exit pickup. Overall, Im extremely appreciative of the wonderful service! Excellent!
Avis Car Rental
121 98th Ave, Oakland, CA 94603, United States
Just left this location. Pre-paid for a rental car and was not allowed to pick it up. 12 minutes after 12 and “Karen” was locking the gate. (I put her name in quotes because this is the name she gave me.) I asked her if this was Avis rental car. She asked for the name on the rental then she said we were late to pick up the car. She was closed. She said she called 10 times. (Phone shows 3 missed calls, no message left. We were driving and do not answer unknown numbers.)Why would a rental for the time of a closing be allowed? The location is not easily seen from the road. We had gone by, parked across the street and had to wait for the traffic signal to change to cross the street. I asked since she was still there if she could let us get the prepaid car. She said no she had to pick someone up and the system takes 30 minutes to reboot. She drove away. We waited out front, calling customer service. She came back. I asked how her pick up was since no one was in the vehicle. This kind of customer service is ridiculous. Luckily Avis is granting us a refund and a new pick up location. Stay away from this one in Hayward and “Karen”.
Car Rental Center Oakland Airport
7600 Earhart Rd SUITE 1, Oakland, CA 94621, United States
Smallish rental car facility, but all you need to get a decent car for an OAK based trip. The bus to the facility stops in front of terminal 1 and 2, but beware the bus can be super packed and un organized. I don't know why the bus service doesn't attempt to flow riders like most buses do: people enter in one door and exit through the other. The bus has people trying to get on while others are getting off and then mix in luggage and each stop is taking 5x more than it needs to.

I had to get rid of GEICO, they were charging me too much money. I canceled my auto policy with them. That same day I shopped around for another insurance company and when I called STATE FARM this gentleman (ANGEL) named David Kracht picked up the phone. After telling him about my frustration with Geico, he insured me he would make my day better with the right policy I wanted . I was paying $176.78a month to Geico, David got me the same full auto coverage for $139.15, thats almost a $38.00 savings per month, $446.76 SAVINGS PER YEAR. PLUS THIS INCLUDES RENTAL INSURANCE which I did not have. Now thanks to STATE FARM and David I can drive and sleep well knowing I am fully covered.
