Penny Realty, Inc. Property Management

We had a great time at the Aloha rental from Penny Realty!I highly recommend working with Penny Realty, they made this experience so easy and carefree! They were very accommodating with a travel snafu that I had, but luckily one of the other guests who stayed the weekend was already in San Diego, and was able to pick up the keys and get the weekend started. I didnt get into San Diego until very late the night i was supposed to check in, but they worked with me and I was able to sign the rental agreement the next morning. The rental office is super close to the house too- it was the perfect morning walk down there, and we were even able to hit Starbucks on the way back for a coffee! The house slept 6 grown men comfortably, and everything we needed was right there. There are many bars and restaurants within walking distance, and even a Ralphs supermarket- one night we bought groceries and cooked our own dinner! This property isnt next to any other residences, so it was nice and quiet at night, and all of us slept like babies. Not to mention the benefit of having a bike rental shop on one side, and a great Mexican taqueria on the other side. The food from the place next door was delicious!Everything was very clean. The appliances were modern and well cared for; the linens and bath towels all looked basically brand new and we used them with no reservations! The porch areas are awesome during the mornings to watch the sunrise- the perfect way to start a day in SD!Of course, this review wouldnt count for anything if I didnt talk about how close Aloha is to the beach- step out the front door, cross Mission Blvd, and in 5 minutes you can dig your toes into the sand! We had a great weekend playing beach football, and a great night walking up and down the boardwalk, watching the waves come in. Talk about a prime location! Thanks to Penny Realty for coming through in the clutch on our check-in day, and making up for SeaTacs terrible TSA lines. I was stressed until I got to San Diego- from there on out, it was smooth sailing!

Iconic on Alvarado Apartments
6625 Alvarado Rd, San Diego, CA 92120, United States
COMPLETE HONEST REVIEW OF STERLING ALVARADO:(You should read this if youre considering moving here, if you have another option MOVE THERE)The only reason I gave this place 1 star is because of location. Its a minute and a half trolley ride to SDSU and about a 15-20 minute walk. Its a prime location for students. HOWEVER, that is the ONLY good thing about living here. If that is ALL you care about then this is the place for you!Sterling Alvarado does an excellent job at having an incredibly DISORGANIZED leasing office. They are impossible to reach via email and phone and they have terrible customer service. The leasing office representatives are unfriendly. They are hard to talk to and theyre very short with you and sometimes very sarcastic. Theyre not personal and they dont take responsibility for issues they have caused. I dread going to the leasing office, even to just get a package, because no one in the leasing office seems like they genuinely want to help you. They always seem too busy to be bothered. They treat everyone and every problem the same.My move in date was switched around multiple times and was much later than I was informed when I signed my lease. When I was finally able to move in the apartment was still dirty. The fridge, bathtub, and toilet were cleaned (which was the important stuff) but everything else looked like it hadnt been touched since the last resident moved out. My boyfriend and I had to sweep and mop the floor 3 TIMES before we could walk around barefoot without our feet turning black. Under the bed was disgusting, the amount of dust bunnies and piles of hair we found looked like the place hadnt been properly cleaned since Sterling Alvarado was built. I found a bright blue fake nail, I dont wear fake nails. When they say student living, they mean student living. This place was made of the cheapest of cheap materials. Lots of stuff in my apartment is poorly built and put together. The cabinets and drawers look like theyre nice dark wood in the pictures, BUT THEYRE NOT. Theyre cheap wood with dark wood stickers on them. Most of which are poorly cut and placed. Lots of my drawers are peeling and look like whoever put them together did not care about his job. There is a section on the top of my cabinets where the molding is missing and nails are sticking out. My boyfriend cut his hand on one.IF YOURE STILL READING, THE HORRORS CONTINUE:If you want something to be fixed or need something to get done YOU MUST verify, check, and tell the leasing office MULTIPLE times to ensure that it happens! If you dont, they will blame you and say there is nothing that can be done.At the beginning of the summer I asked to reserve a parking space for my floor, the leasing office representative assured me that it would be taken care of. When I moved in I was informed that there were no records of me reserving a spot so I had to reserve one again. I did this in the leasing office with a leasing office representative. When I came back from vacation a week later I was surprised to see someone in my spot. Apparently the leasing office representative who helped me forgot to email me the verification form to sign for my parking spot even though I reserved it. Since he let someone else sign for it there was nothing that I could do. I now park on the top floor and it takes me 3-5 minutes to make it all the way down the parking garage. This place is tolerable. With good furniture, decorations, and good company it can be an okay place to live for a couple of years. If this is your only option, you can make it work. If you are lucky enough to have another option CHOOSE THAT ONE.The hallways are kind of like walking down a prison. Other than that its relatively quiet for student living. That and its close to SDSU. Those are the pluses.Im not sure how this place has a 3.9 stars, dont believe it!!!!

San Diego County Property Management
3111 Camino Del Rio N Suite 400, San Diego, CA 92108, United States
I scheduled a tour of an apartment with this property management company 3xs. The first appointment was canceled for an unknown reason. The second appointment no one was there to give me a tour. I called and had to navigate an automated system, untill eventually I got to selection to speak to a representative and it routed me to maintenance. The maintenance man advised you actually need to dial an ext number to get to a representative, which was not provided in the rental add or in any of the pre- recorded prompts. Finally I was able to speak to a woman who then advised I couldnt tour the apartment because the door lock was broken. She then went on to advise she didnt know when the lock would be fixed, estimated in about a week. She took my contact info and said she would email or call when it did to schedule another tour. Two weeks go by and no contact what so ever. I call back to follow up the same woman advises the lock has been fixed and I can move forward with scheduling a tour. I schedule the tour for the next available date the upcoming Monday, just 3 days away. Low and behold the same exact thing happens again. This time I am ready, I call the management company and use the ext number. I kid you not, the same women, whose name begins with P and ends in A said the unit is NOT going to be available for at least a month. The owner of the unit is repairing a whole wall. I was flabbergasted, not only did she not remember me from just 3 days ago, just like the previous 2xs she provided no real assistance, just that she was yet again sorry for the inconvenience. I asked her why is this unit listed as available if its not ready to tour and better yet why are they allowing people to schedule tours. She stated theres nothing she can do, its an automated system that sends back replies. No wonder this unit has been listed for 86 days! It was such a terrible experience.

Coral Bay Apartments
3309 Cowley Way A, San Diego, CA 92117, United States
CONSUMER / SCAM ALERT: Unless you have section 8, I highly suggest not wasting your time looking at this place at all! Coral Bay Apartments will advertise a unit at a certain price. You will go online to pay $45 for the application, and the $90 to hold the until lease signing. The $90 is supposed to lock in the price. They will then tell you the unit you originally wanted at the original advertised price is now priced higher. Even though you locked in the price, you have no choice but to pay the higher price if you want the unit aka RENTER NIGHTMARE!I initially called and set up a tour in Sep. I told the agent the lease was not going to be in my name but I was going to be an occupant and gave them my boyfriends name/ contact number & email as well as my name & number. We decided we were going to wait on moving because the unit we initially wanted wasnt the right fit and didnt do the tour.Eventually we did a tour & waited months to find the right unit in the location of the complex we were looking for. Finally the unit comes up on their website. It is a Canyon = it has the older brown cupboards, yet in the description it said it was an upstairs corner unit with upgraded cabinets. When we called the office they said it also had a screen door on it.My guy acted upon it immediately! It was in the exact area we were looking for, across from the office and gym. We were waiting for an upstairs corner unit, and would have paid for a Park or a Summit if the price was reasonable. Their prices fluctuate on a day-to-day basis. If you are patient, you can find the unit you are looking for at the price point you want - especially if youre looking to be a long-term tenant. In theory this is how it works... in theory. He paid the $90 to hold the unit. We started getting ready for our move after his application approval.Getting ready for a move is a costly expense, including storage unit, and also letting your landlord know you will be moving out.Just a few days ago he was told, via email, he cannot have this unit.He called in.He was told it had a few maintenance issues. Considering that my partner is a licensed plumbing contractor, there isnt really any issues he wouldnt know about in an apartment and know the time frame to fix it. He offered to wait for the apartment. They told him it wouldnt be available and if it was it would be at a higher price. They offered him a different unit, in a different area of the complex at a much higher price. He told them he wanted THIS unit and he wanted to wait for it, they gave him every excuse as to why he couldnt have it.He asked for the money back, and an hour later we found the SAME unit online for a $250 higher price for the SAME move-in date we already had.Of course the apartment complex was notified of their scandalous ways, and within minutes the date of the move-in for the unit was changed online to February 2nd and the price was reduced lower - but not to the price we had originally locked in.This means we were being told lies. Not only that but it was false advertisement because the unit was not a corner unit, it was an interior unit, the unit they were describing with a screen door was across from it and I highly doubt that the unit we had selected came with upgraded cabinets - since everything else we were told about the unit was misleading. We can only assume that they wanted to hold onto the unit longer in order to upgrade the cabinets, which is why they wanted to charge us more money for the unit.Either way its a bait-and-switch, false advertisement and a scam to get you to pay more money. This will also be posted on other review sites. The public should know.

Avion at Spectrum Apartments
8811 Spectrum Center Blvd, San Diego, CA 92123, United States
CONS:- They will find reasons to not return your deposit. I am 8 months pregnant and spent 2 days cleaning my entire apartment(even wiping down the base boards), had a walkthrough and was told that i would not be charged anything for cleaning as it was spic and span. 1 month later find out that I was being charged 75$ for floor cleaning. Further more, when i provided my final rent check, i included an estimate for what my utilities would be for that month based on previous months rent breakdown, and was charged an additional 100 some how for utilities.- They also will try to hide the fact that you need to give a 30 day notice, even if your lease is expected to end after 12 months. no reminder notice was given. They will also charge you month to month rate (an increase of 500-700$) during that time frame if you dont make the cutoff.- I was charged 500$ for a supposed scrapped pole from my assigned car port. I was told that someone in the residence saw me getting helped out of my car and that i looked drunk (funny seeing as how i was 6 months pregnant at the time). Received no apology, and no explanation or reasoning as to why i was being deemed 100% responsible for the issues on the pole. The really extraordinary thing is this issue was brought to my attention 1.5 months after i had scrapped my car against the pole, i didnt have my car cleaned or scrubbed to remove any evidence but i did get out of my car after it happened and investigated both my car and the pole and noted that there was no issue to the pole only my car... yet 1.5 months later i was asked to come to the office, told that i would be charged for the incident and was shown pictures of my car. If i had something to hide i would have removed the evidence from my car, there was no damage and yet the word of some other resident who claimed a pregnant woman was drunk was taken over mine own.- floors/walls/vents are very thin and carry noise easily. Downstairs neighbors had continual fights starting from 3am to 8am, i spoke to them in person twice asking them to please keep their arguments to a reasonable hour with no result. I then contacted the management office and left a complaint with no result, not even an apology.- even though the community is gated the gates are not always kept closed, leads to people from other communities parking in the spots and there not being enough space for residents. On multiple occasions my husband spent 20-30 minutes waiting for someone to leave in order to find parking(during weekdays).- Even though the pool seems nice given that it is heated, i am pretty sure they do not put enough chlorine in the water or keep it properly cleaned. Every occasion when i went swimming i got sick a day or two after. I attribute it to the pool water being uncleanly but cannot say for sure.- The pool house is available for booking but only after leasing office hours. They claim it would intrude with their normal business. So you can only have events from 6pm on... that includes weekends.- neighbors will smoke on their patios with disregard to other residents. smoke will come through your windows if you live near one of them.PROs:- bathtubs are bigger than average and walk in closets are available in 1bd layout. move in deals are available but be careful as they will get you with that month to month increase at the end if you dont get out in time.- laminate floors are nice- cabinets look nice but they are plywood with paneling, so nice look but very cheaply made- W/D in units- pet friendly- gym and heated pool

San Diego Vacation Rental Minutes to Downtown
3270 Cedar St, San Diego, CA 92102, United States
This is a great rental at a great location. The place was clean and neat, with all the amenities I needed for a weeks stay. The on-site washer and dryer was a big plus. The bed was nice and the sheets were very soft, which was a nice touch. The kitchen was nice so I could cook and didnt have to eat out every night. My favorite part about the place was the shower. It has two separate shower head and the shower pressure was great. Its located on a street that is real quiet which made parking always easy. Another bonus is that its real easy to jump on the freeway which was incredibly helpful for getting around. The owner is a great guy that is easy to deal with and incredibly efficient. I recommend this place.

Awful place to live. A/C system has been out for months and whenever we ask management about an update all they say is “we're working on it”. Well they've been “working on it” for 3 months while still charging us for something completely unusable. The water in our unit won't get hot and it took me telling them several times to even attempt to fix it. They turned up the boilers for our unit but guess what. Cold showers still. We have noisy upstairs neighbors and have told management several times about it. They say they have given them a call and even written an email to them however it still persist. My husband and I went upstairs to talk to them at 10:30 at night because they were still stomping around and the gentleman got mad at us saying we should have went to management and not come up to his place at 10:30pm. We have gone to management. Several times. Obviously that didn't work so we took matters into our own hands. People here are money hungry and will not help you out. The place started out great but it has done nothing but go downhill ever since. Save yourself the hassle and move somewhere else. For $2,200 a month (with a $200 discount a month!)we should have no problems resolving these kinds of issues. There are plenty of other places around the area that would actually treat you like you matter.

If you are a housing provider, the Left leaning politicos in power are chasing us out of California. SCRHA is here to protect our rights. And to educate the public, that the reason why there is little supply is because they made Calif such a hostile environment towards 1. housing providers & 2. hard working citizens who saved their money, built housing, and are counting on the rental income for retirement. Now, theyre taking their money to friendlier red states, where lots of housing supply means > lower rents & less homelessness.

Luxury No Credit Check Apartment Lease Guaranty...
1301, 7465 Mission Gorge Rd Ste129, San Diego, CA 92120, United States
Like an earlier review I read. This company is a sham! They are unprofessional and takes days to get a simple yes or no response. My wife and I make over $8000 take home and they tried to tell us we did not make that amount, I even sent over check stubs from both my wife and my jobs and the agent who was working with us argued that that is not what we made and she asked us why would be put down income we did blot have? Like really?!?! We both double checked with our HR departments at our jobs and not only did they show us what they reported but they were confused as to why this company would get that we make so little. After all this mess we received another email declining us of the service. Again we make well over what they initially said we made and the agent was unprofessional (when she responded) and rude! This company is complete trash! Good luck!
