U-Haul of Santa Barbara
4417 Hollister Ave, Santa Barbara, CA 93110, United States
I rented a truck here for two days. I drove it from the rental agency to my home on the mesa and then to downtown once and back to the rental agency. They charged me for 75 miles after I returned the truck. Beware of the lady/owner/operator in there. She WILL screw you. Take photos of the truck and odometer before and after you rent the truck to cover your butt! Would never rent from them again.
U-Haul Storage of Santa Barbara
4101 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93110, United States
I have been storing here for almost a year. I often leave messages for Stacy the manager, that take weeks to return.I chose a unit that had elevator access. However, the elevator has been broken for over 3 months now and they say they have tried to repair but they cant get the parts. I was given a discount for 1 month of $20.When I asked again about the elevator situation, I was told that it was not going to be fixed and that I cant get a discount again. The young man also said lucky to have the unit I have. (Really?) He then told me that they were going to remove the elevator from the other building.I am very upset about this since I specifically chose this place because I could put my stuff on an elevator instead of going up and down stairs. I am a middle aged woman. In addition, when I went to get some of stuff out of my unit, 3 weeks ago, all my stuff in the front of the unit was covered in saw dust. They had just repaired the floor outside my unit and mustve have cut the boards right there. Needless to say, this is not what I would want or expect.I am waiting now for 3 weeks for Stacy to return my calls. I have left multiple messages.I am looking into renting from another business in town.Follow-up: at 1:30pm today Stacy finally called me. She was defensive and said she tried calling me several times and left messages. I did not have any voice mails and only 1 missed call from last week. She kept saying shes done all she could do for me and that it wasnt enough. I responded by saying, that it seems like all you want to do for me is tell you cant do anything for me.She didnt apologize for the sawdust in my unit, for the attitude of her staff (Enrique). She is a nice person, I believe, but she does NOT know how to run a business or treat her customers. She did not even TRY to address 1 of my concerns. All she wanted to do was be defensive and make excuses. I will be moving out this week.DO NOT RENT STORAGE FROM THIS PLACE!
A-American Self Storage
1 N Calle Cesar Chavez #120, Santa Barbara, CA 93103, United States
This place apparently has alot of people who have access to your information and can request your credit card information over the phone without applying any payment toward your storage fees. This, I find, quite disturbing and criminal, which shouldnt go unpunished.I called to make a payment via Green Dot Visa, which I just loaded $97.00 on. For some reason, the card came up declined after the representative of the company tried to run it for $94.00. In disbelief, I hung up the phone, and proceeded to call Green Dot to check the balance. Then I found out that the card had $0.01 remaining from the 97 that was on the card. The card company showed that it was just used, but dont give the specifics to where the card was used. Just says on the recording that it was used in Santa Barbara. I am in Texas, so there is no way possible that i used it there.I called the front desk at the facility, to try to get ahold of that same representative, but to find that they use a call center out of LA to handle the overflow of calls. The rep that answers this time explains that he is working at he front desk on the weekends and that the call center should not request a payment over the phone, but only should direct the call to the front desk for payment processing. I called 2 days later, after no response from them, and find all kinds of different information on payments over the phone, and finger pointing, while I still have my belongings in this facility and not knowing if it is even there at this point.Appears that I will have to make a trip out there to resolve this matter, due to the runaround game this company seems to think they can get away with. Hopefully this will not happen to anyone else, if I had a chance, I would have definetly taken my business elsewhere and recommend you do the same, to save alot of headaches.
San Marcos Self Storage
4093 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93110, United States
The Problem:Budget and U-haul both over-book trucks, and leave it to the pick-up site to work-out the conflict. Reserve the largest truck one month in advance, and a day or two before pick-up, they call to offer a smaller truck. If you do not connect with them before arriving for your appointment......NO TRUCK!The customer; who is moving and extremely stressed; is usually unhappy to see all their careful plans disintegrate. Budget representatives deal with many angry customers, and become indifferent to the customers crisis. So even if you are very pleasant, the indifference carries the day.And to make things worse - San Marcos Storage rents storage units as a primary business, and deals with allot of students that are learning to be adults. Businesses commonly treat students like children, but most adults are used to being treated like customers. If you dont like being talked to like a child, she will gladly refuse to rent to you. Just hold your tongue, smile, and make the most of it, because it can only get worse.

KB Events was such a joy to work with!! We were so thrilled with our collaboration with them. After having to separate from another wedding planner due to her lack of organization and accountability, we started working with Hannah, Katie, and Adam a little bit into our planning. I was a nervous wreck because of how poorly things went with our initial planner, and was so anxious about finding the right fit who could help us.And trust me when I say that KB Events absolutely blew me away. If you are looking for incredibly organized, super supportive, patient, and respectful planners, KB is for you. Their extreme attention to detail was exactly what I needed to feel taken care of. All of their emails were so thorough, easy to read, and just always made me feel like they were on top of their game. They were also very responsive in their emails in terms of how long it took for them to get back to you.And if you're a bride who has a lot of questions… who is quite particular or has a lot of opinions… or who just is very detail-oriented and Type A herself about to-do lists and timelines… KB gets it. They were always SO respectful and professional in their communications, even if I was badgering them with questions or concerns. If ever I found a discrepancy or mentioned a mistake I noticed, they never got defensive or deflective (something we experienced with the other initial planner)... they always acknowledged any mistake (which was rare), apologized, took accountability, and fixed it. They always showed up with smiles on their faces and never once came off as stressed out or overworked. Each call/meeting/engagement with them was personal - they were always focused and prepared. They provided amazing to-do lists and timelines and took initiative on setting up meetings with vendors.Even on things that were outside of their “responsibilities,” they were so supportive and helpful. I had a wedding dress emergency, and they responded right away. My husband had a tie emergency, and they got back to us outside of work hours and offered to get a package delivered to their home. The thing I really appreciated about Katie, Hannah, and Adam is that I really trusted them and I genuinely liked them. They are such caring and fun people!KB might charge a bit more than some other options on here, but for us it was worth the peace of mind. My husband and I could not be happier with the planning of our wedding and the wedding itself! It was the most magical, dreamy, perfect weekend and we are so grateful to KB Events for helping us pull it off!

Ians Tire & Auto Repair
4299 1/2, 4299 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93110, United States
Updated 6/22/2021: I had a water pump go out in my car the day after I went in for an oil change (It is not their fault, just happens to be a coincidence) They got me in when I cam back from a vacation and let me know how long It could be for them to look at it. After they looked at the problem they said they do not fix water pumps, but referred me to a mechanic that does. To me, I felt they hear my concern and incorporated it to communicate with their customer, and I had a great experience this time around!Came here for a 2:00pm reservation for oil change and Tire Rotation, with their website saying Award for Best Quick Oil Change in 2020, and I estimated it would take an hour to hour and half max for the oil change if they were busy, but it ended up taking 2 hours and 15 minutes of me sitting there. I was not told or notified it could take this long and their website did not say it would take this long. After Talking with the owner, he said they plan for oil changes to take a maximum of 2 and a half hours. If I knew this, I would have arranged a ride ( but I feel also unnecessary if you make a reservation). I am a bit irritated that this was not communicated either by them or their website when I made the reservation or during the entire time I was there. The owner was understanding and listened, and I got the oil change and tire rotation done, and it looked like it was done well.

Had a meeting with Petra Thom to go over my auto policy. Big five to Petra for explaining to me how important it is to have renters! Now I'm covered! I sure recommend anyone in town or out of town..hey anyone in the state of CALIFORNIA, to take a few min out of your day and sit down to talk to Petra about your auto, home, renters, RV anything you need insured; you will feel safe if a disaster happens! Thank you Petra and staff (lovely, professional staff) for all your help!! I went in to review my auto insurance and came out of my meeting even more protected with a renters policy!! AAA Santa Barbara Insurance and Member Services
3712 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93105, United States
After dozens of attempts over the past 3 months to have my mortgage lienholder added to my AAA homeowners insurance, my mortgage lender bought insurance for my home loan and charged me $2,500.00. I already paid AAA for homeowner insurance but because AAA refused to call back, or communicate with me in any way about adding the mortgage holder, I ended up paying for the same cover twice from two different companies for the homeowners coverage. In October I went into the Santa Barbara AAA office and spoke with the insurance rep, Mike, and he assured me he would take care of adding the mortgage holder to my policy. He didnt. Then on Nov 29 AAA cancelled my home owners because they couldnt take pictures of my property. An agent from the Santa Barbara AAA branch came and took pictures the first week of November! With service like this, I cancelled ALL my AAA insurance (autos and motorcycles). I went with State Farm (cheaper, by the way) and now I am trying to get my mortgage holder to cancel their insurance and issue me a partial refund. Geeze. So far, this whole ordeal has cost me an extra $2,500.00, that I should not have had to spend, plus 3 months of anguish, worry, and hours of wasted time and effort. Thanks to Krista at State Farm on Fairview in Goleta for the excellent service and expedient binding for my home and autos (plus she contacted my mortgage holder immediately) :-)
Enterprise Rent-A-Car
500 James Fowler Rd, Santa Barbara, CA 93117, United States
I have used Enterprise Rent-a-car for many years, at least 15-20. I have always had good reliable service. On my last rental there were some initial problems... I had let them know that I would be arriving to pick up the car at 6p, and we arrived a little early so I went straight to the Enterprise desk only to find it closed! I was a bit peeved... We Ubered to our home, and returned the next day to pick u the car. They said I would be reimbursed for the Uber rides. The next problem occurred on our way to go to a Wine Tasting in Lompoc, and several miles short of our destination the Low fuel light came on, much to my frustration as it is a remote area, and it never occurred to me that the tank would be empty when I picked it up!! I called and voiced my displeasure immediately, and was later texted back by the Branch Manager, Ivy. She let me know that they would be refunding a good portion of my charges to cover the gas, and the cost of the Ubers, and then some. I was very appreciative, and she gave me her phone number in case I needed anything else. This is what I call good customer service! I was ready to end my relationship with Enterprise, but was impressed with their handling of the situation. Ivy, it should be noted, saved Enterprise a long time customer, who will now return for future business. Please acknowledge this exemplary employee for retaining my loyalty to Enterprise. I am fully aware that stuff happens, but she turned a bad situation around, and made me happy. THAT is good customer service!
