U-Haul of Torrance

If I could give this place zero stars I would! Horrible customer service! I'm getting ready to move into a new home and I had kept hearing from people I should go to U-haul to purchase boxes because they are very fair priced. Therefore, looked up a local U-haul store and it said they close at 7pm. I ended up leaving work and rushing to this location off of Hawthorne Blvd in the city of Torrance. As I pulled into the parking lot at 6:57pm there was an employee outside who physically motioned (literally used his hand and made the motion of “slicing his throat”) and said, “we're closed!” Now let me remind you, I was still in my car pulling into the parking space. My boyfriend got out of the car and went up to the door where another man came and said through the glass, “we're closed”. This gentleman refused to even slightly open the door to have a conversation, so my boyfriend replied,, “it's not 7:00 yet.” At this time the initial man who was outside was now back inside and both these men were saying they were closed and we're refusing to let us in. When my boyfriend said we just wanted to purchase boxes the two men continued to argue and refuse to open the door. When my boyfriend told both men we were going to write a review, one of the men looked at him and gave him a “thumbs up” as he was walking away.I myself am in the customer service industry and feel as though this was by far the worse customer service experience I have ever endured! I work for a local company and just purchased a rental from this place a couple months ago. I will no longer be giving them my business and will ensure I let everyone know in this town never to go there! These two men need to be reprimanded. I would NEVER want employees like this representing my business. I always tell me employees, “treat the business as though it was your own.” If this was their business, these two men would have welcomed the customer inside and allowed the customer to make a purchase. That purchase would have meant an extra $100- $200 in sales. However, because it's not their business, they chose to exhibit poor customer service with a careless attitude.Future reference, if you market you close at 7pm and your doors state you close at 7pm, then you should close at 7pm, not a minute sooner!
U-Haul of Old Town Torrance
21707 S Western Ave, Torrance, CA 90501, United States
Please, please, please, do yourself a favor and avoid this establishment. I simply wanted to utilize the air station for my bicycle. In the past, Ive repeatedly asked for permission yet each time It seemed like I was being silly for inquiring. So, with this in mind, I simply went right to the air pump. A gentleman immediately walked up to me and said, Cease what you are doing. This is not a gas station. In retort, I explained my previous encounters which seemed to fall on deaf in not dumb ears?!?! So after such a rude interaction, I went in to file a complaint but was informed that the rude individual in which I was complaining about was in fact the manager. So, as a last ditch effort to be the better of the two, I offered to pay a few dollars for the use of the air. The manager coldly replied as if I was asking for his first born, No. In defeat, I said, thank you, yet he remained silent and distant.I dont believe anyone should be treated as such especially as a customer. Also, not everyone who rides a bike is necessarily homeless. We might just be trying to offset the carbon dioxide imbalance! (Not that our socio-economic status should make a difference, anyways!)

I went to get boxes, I was walking after inquiring if the indeed had the sizes I needed I was told by a gentleman there were no Med. boxes, a women employee said yes there were, he said again no not any not one. She looked at me ( she was helping another customer) & said give me a moment please I will help you, I said ok. After ( witch was only a moment) she helped me. Not only did she know where one was but she knew were 40 were she helped me gather them up showed me how if you mix match the direction they take up less space helped me wrap them with my string and helped me package them in what I had brought large Ikea bags with heavy duty string to make an extra handle. She was brilliant I cant give any more than five stars but she should get 25 Stars I worked in retail for over 40 years and this woman her name is Patricia deserves some type of reward or at least acknowledgment which I hope this is doing for her this review to show that how she works and treats customers is exemplary. I need some more boxes and I will be going back to this store because of Patricia and I dont just tell people about bad experience I tell people about good experiences and trust me Ill be telling a lot of people about this store and the way Patricia made me feel comfortable and respected like people should treat each other she is by far not the normal but she should be thank you Patricia I hope we meet again the next time Im at your store.

Jeff Lowe - State Farm Insurance Agent
3400 Torrance Blvd Suite 103, Torrance, CA 90503, United States
Jeff gave me his business card about 4years ago at yogis on Anza and Sepulveda He told me he was passionate about saving people money and that he could help me. After a few phone calls and emails overlooking my policy He begged me to switch and I was resistant, because I for whatever reason felt obligated to stay loyal to the company I was using! It wasn't until I (after many years of being accident free) backed into a tree and was dropped by my insurance company. I gave jeff a call and explained my dilemma. First he offered to buy me lunch at yogis and then he handed me over to Dominique to gather info on any possible changes to the quote he had given and not only did he save me money he got me better coverage! I believe Jeff is committed to providing a service and for that he has gained my business and my loyalty “I should have gone with Jeff a long time ago”.
Trang Trinh-Byrd - State Farm Insurance Agent
2510 W 237th St STE 200, Torrance, CA 90505, United States
I could not agree more with all of the previous reviews. I wish I can give unlimited stars. Although I did not meet with Trang as she was out of the office, I met with her phenomenal account managers, Leah and Gilbert. Even though it was my first time there, Leah and Gilbert treated me like a VIP as if I had been a long time client. They both made me feel welcome and at ease offering me beverages and making sure that I was okay. Leah handled my policy and I must admit, she is the first agent to explain all of the details and intricacies of complicated home policies in a consise and easily understandable manner. She has a great skill to explain difficult material so that even a 5 year old child can understand it. I even purchased earthquake insurance as she quickly explained and squashed my many misconceptions about it. The cost is very reasonable and there are many options to choose for your budget. Even though Gilbert was not handling my account, he was the one whom I initially spoke. After I hung up with him, making an appointment, he sent me an estimated quote that was very accurate to the final one. I cannot tell you enough how great Leah and Gilbert are. They both are extremely patient and know their jobs well, are extremely nice and helpful and do a lot of charity work in the community. I look forward to a long and lasting relationship. Thank you very much for the excellent service and kindness.
Scott Robinson Honda
20340 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503, United States
My husband and I both leased vehicles in 2016 and had a wonderful experience, I could not rave more about that experience, so obviously I would not be writing to this unless it was serious. We came into Scott Robinson on Sunday to investigate different options we had once our leases are up in June.We started with Ken the salesman who was super aloof and provided no information or actual answers to our questions. It seemed as though all he wanted us to do was test drive a vehicle, which we did and really liked the car. We asked about the promotions currently going on and he could not even recall. We then were essentially just thrown into Stuart Lipschitzs lap since we have leases. We told him exactly what we were doing there and that we were there to explore different options we had on our current leases and possibly go forward if we felt comfortable with it. From the start he was extremely aggressive, and his attitude was off-putting. He made inappropriate jokes to myself that made me so uncomfortable my skin was crawling. He rushed into taking a ton of information about our leases and the one vehicle we had with us at the time which included going out to the vehicle and asking for the registration (which he did not give back right away). We returned to his office and he started trying to sell us a car we did NOT want and kept saying he needed to educate me, which was ridiculous. He kept repeating over and over that I needed to go get the other vehicle we are leasing and that he'd separate me, from my husband to get the other vehicle. Which we were in NO place where that was even needed. He kept trying to rush us through so much so that he brought up a credit application without even asking us, and I am almost 100% sure he would've just pressed submit on it without asking us, if I hadn't said something. We cut the conversation there because he was trying to tell me he HAD to run my credit to talk about different options, but I know from our first visit and other visits at different dealerships that this is not needed. We walked away and noticed that he had never given us our registration back. My husband went to ask for it back while I waited at the car. While I was waiting, this man came up to the open door of my car and was trying to get into it to talk to me and kept harassing me about why we were leaving and that if I came in he'd “educate me” on leasing and car buying. I asked him if he had our registration and he was like “No, I gave it back to you,” which he had NOT and luckily my husband came back and made him give back our registration, after this man again berated him on leaving and saying to my husband that he needed to “educate me” again. We luckily received our registration back from him and were able to leave.I am so taken aback about how we were treated. Since when did Honda become a hard sell dealership? We are coming into our decision period about what to do with our leases and we were really considering buying a car from you all and getting a new lease, but this is now very up in the air and we are extremely close to turning in the cars and taking our money elsewhere.
Nissan of Torrance
20550 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90503, United States
I would heavily advise that you avoid this location. Besides the usual upcharging, they messed up my car (which led to literally $1000+ of repairs that we did trying to figure out what the problem was), admitted to the mistake, but made no real attempt to rectify the issue, simply saying tough luck, heres a free oil change.I originally went in late October to get an oil change and another key for our car (our spare had broken). I did not know during that visit that if you get another key, you need to have all keys present when they re-program the car; if I had known that, I would have avoided the key issue altogether.Well, the next day, the car wouldnt turn over (found out later that the old key vs the new key was the real issue). We initially thought it was a battery, but AAA checked the battery and said it was in good health. He recommended that it might be the starter. When I called Nissan of Torrance back, they said it would be anywhere between $800-1300 for a starter, depending on what the issue was. Not wanting to take it back to the place which seemed to have caused the problem (which it actually did), we took it to a different location and got a new starter for $550. It would work fine, but the next day, again stopped working. We then took it to a different shop and they recommended the spark plugs, which was about another $600. When we picked up the car, they mentioned that the car computer seemed to have been improperly reprogrammed, and thats when we realized that the key was the real issue. When I called Nissan of Torrance, they apologized, saying the guy is new and he didnt know, and hes been punished. Im not looking for people to be punished, but at this point, weve put in over $1000 of unnecessary repairs because of their mistake. Instead of offering some solution, the service manager literally chided me, saying you should have brought it back in!. Yeah, Im going to bring it back to the same location where the problems started, AND for an additional estimated $800-1300. What a joke.He offered me an oil change or some other BS service, but at this point, I wouldnt trust Nissan of Torrance with microwaving a bag of popcorn. I dont know, to me, if your shop makes a mistake, you should offer to rectify the problem and offer real compensation, but hey, what do I know about customer service? smh.Oh, and I sent my concerns along to the general manager of the dealership with no response. *shrug* Just avoid this location unless you want to light money on fire and be blamed for their mistakes.

Enterprise Rent-A-Car
20537 S Western Ave, Torrance, CA 90501, United States
Rented a car because my car is in the shop. I had to use a debit card because I dont have any credit cards. When I arrived at the location to pick up the vehicle Shay was so awesome. She was nice, courteous, and very patient. I failed to print out my required documents and she waited while I looked up my information on line. With all of that going on she was still friendly. She processed my information and I was on my way within 15 minutes. Not to mention the vehicle was awesome for the price. When I returned the vehicle I was greeted by Drea who was also very friendly. She returned the vehicle within 5 minutes and I was on my way. The office was also clean and not crowded at all. Thanks so much for the awesome customer service ladies I felt like a valued customer. ??Additional comments.Unfortunately my car is still inoperable so I have been renting from enterprise frequently and I must say that the service and care from the staff is exceptional. I rented a vehicle again 4/30 and I was suppossed to return it 5/2. Due to my vehicle issues I kept the vehicle until 5/16. When I attempted to extend the rental I called and spoke to Ray and he was so helpful and kind and was able to extend my agreement for the same vehicle for 30% less than the internet estimate. WOW!! I am just in awe with this company. Thank you Ray for your excellent service and for saving me money. ??
