I'm happy to give a 5-star review to the staff at Enterprise Rent-A-Car on El Cajon Blvd. in San Diego. Specifically, my dealings with the branch manager Lindsay were pleasant and helpful, as she was happy to answer all my questions and accommodate my rental requests.I recently moved cross country to San Diego for a new job, and rented a vehicle from Enterprise on El Cajon Blvd. for approximately two months after my arrival. I came to CA with a foreign (Canadian) driver's license and was required by the CA DMV to pass a written and road test. The wait time for a CA DMV road test was nearly 6 weeks, forcing me to rent a car in the interim. Additionally, I needed to use this rental car for my DMV road test.Lindsay and her staff helped me make sure I had the complete vehicle registration and was signed up for the proper insurance coverage through Enterprise for the day of my road test. They made it simple to add and remove the insurance for just the single day (relied on my credit card coverage otherwise). As well, I had two-month long reservations in two different cars at two different rates, and Lindsay made sure I could stay in the same car and pay the same rate, to streamline the process.Finally, I had two small paint scratches show up on my rented vehicle during my rental contract (likely from a shopping cart or parking lot mishap). I was fearful of the damage report and extra charges (and looming fight with my credit card insurance provider to be reimbursed). Lindsay informed me the scratches were under the limit for the Enterprise damage evaluator tool, and there was no problem at all.All-in-all, it was excellent service, and made the whole process painless and enjoyable (which I very much appreciated). I know the expectations on and risks of a rental car make customer service in this industry very challenging, so having such a seamless experience was truly great!

We rented a cargo van to do some hauling and it was not only the best value but also a great experience! I’d highly recommend bypassing the major corporate car rental agencies or Home Depot and going with Sun Diego. They were friendly, efficient, and flexible!

Dirt Cheap Car Rental

My girlfriend and i recently decided to spontaneously fly to LA and visit San Diego. We are both students, and dont have a large income.I am SO thankful that i found Dirt Cheap Car Rental on google. We needed a car with a good MPG rating, that didnt need to be the newest possible model and wouldnt cost us an arm and a leg. I browsed through offers of many other car rental agencies near the airport and old town area.For the 8 days that i was going to be needing a car in SD the price i would have had to pay, at a larger car rental agency, was on average around 750$ (with insurance included). This only being my second time ever having rented a car, i wasnt sure if this price was reasonable, however it was definitely too high for my budget.I decided to give this company a try because of their great amazon reviews and their practical location in old town. I am so glad i did.I ended up being able to rent a 2016 Kia Rio with, on average, a 30mpg rating. I was so happy and barely payed anything for gas, even though we were constantly driving around SD. For 30$ i was even able to extend my insurance and take a day trip up to Joshua Tree National Park.The car was in great shape, only a few scratches here and there.I payed around 255$ for the 8 day rental (with insurance included!) - awesome!!!The customer service was great, returning the car went quickly.I will absolutely rent from this agency again! A well deserved 5 stars.

EZ Rent A Van

Renting process was streamlined and easy. Staff was friendly and communicative. The rental itself was of a concern. The exterior had its wear and tear which was understandable. The interior fixtures were my main issue. Many things were broken such as: the passengers side door handle kept popping off, the drivers side automatic window would not go down, the side view mirror adjustment controls were unresponsive (which was a safety hazard), there were tears in the seat upholstry, and the passengers side seatbelt was damaged, but still somehow worked. During the initial check of the van, I felt comfortable with staff when they were going through the damage on the exterior as they seemed thorough. However when I mentioned if they were going to run through the interior, they failed to even look inside, and just explained that if there is no major damage then it should be fine. It was only later when I left their lot that I found the interior damage. I did not feel safe during my trip as I thought that if the interior wasnt of good condition, then what about the engine itself. I continued with my trip with that rental as I was on a tight schedule. I hope changes can be made to ensure there is a thorough check of the entire car so that both staff and the customer know the condition of the rental before checking it out.

I made a reservation with this company on 12/14/23. I returned the vehicle on 12/15/23.Instead of doing a walkthrough/walk around of the vehicle, I was told they would just send a receipt. I never received a receipt from that location. I received one from a customer service representative I talked to when I tried to call the local company this morning. Later on yesterday evening I remembered I left a nice looking cooler filled with others stuff(hair products, cologne, first aid products, cleaning supplies, a shredder ) in the truck.This morning I called immediately once they opened and I was told by the manager, Ernesto Menburu, “someone threw it in the trash.” I asked was that their policy and to show me something in writing he couldn't. I asked why I wasn't notified? He that he couldn't call every single person that leaves stuff. I'm unsure if it's writing but prior to people leaving, a walk around and a review of the miles and the truck should be conducted prior to the customer leaving. Ultimately this company is stealing people's belongings. Even if someone left trash in the truck intentionally, at the time the truck is returned, a cleaning fee could be charged.I don't think that's Uhaul's policy, I think the managers and personnel at this specific location aren't doing the right thing.I would not recommend going to this location and a review of how business is being conducted should be reviewed.

This commentary is regarding the staff at 2495 Hotel Circle Place San Diego, CA 92108. I had rented a truck and a car hauler from U Haul to be picked up at this location. I picked up the truck in the morning and was to return later to pick up the car hauler after loading the truck. Our plans were delayed and it was getting close to closing time so I called customer service. Customer service stated they contacted the office and they would prefer we got there by 6pm (closing time) but someone would be there for a few minutes if we were late. We pulled in at 6:04pm, the gate was open, and another person was looking over a truck they just picked up. A gentleman in the lot as I approached ran to his personal vehicle as I asked him about picking up the car hauler that happen to be right in front of me he waived his hand in my face and abruptly said “Closed, We Closed” I tried to ask him for consideration and he said “my time we closed”. I picked up my phone to call customer service and while on the phone the employee proceeded to try to move vehicles around in the lot so he could drive off. My vehicle was in the middle of the drive, which was frustrating him immensely. He then got in my vehicle; unwelcomed of course and tried to drive off in my truck. I grabbed the keys; he then proceeded to try to intimidate me by backing another truck towards mine and finally stopped when he hit my truck. All of this occurred while on the phone with customer service. By this time customer service found me another location with the same equipment. I got my wife in the truck safely who was terrified by this point and we proceeded to leave for the other location. At which point the employee spun out of the gravel lot sliding to a stop in the street in front of me because he had to go back and shut the gate.This was a horrific experience. I would strongly urge all that consider renting from U Haul to go out of your way to avoid using this location. This individual, could not speak or understand English, clearly does not embrace the concept of customer service, has total disregard for personal property and personal safety. If you choose not to heed this warning be prepared to be verbally and physically assaulted at this location. If there was an award for the “Absolute Worst U Haul Experience” this would be it.

We were in the market for a mobility vehicle to ease transportation for our daughter who is in a wheelchair. We looked at a number of companies to purchase a mobility van. All roads led to the Ability Center and the Braunability vehicle modification program. We made an appointment and met with Ken Jarvis. He took time to understand our requirements and our daughter's specific needs. He explained the vehicle options available to us. He worked with other Ability Centers across the country to identify the most suitable vehicles available for sale. Given the supply chain challenges, we knew it might take some time, but Ken assured us he would find inventory. An added issue for us at the time - we had been in a rollover car accident which totaled our previous vehicle. We were in desperate immediate need of a safe vehicle well suited for transporting our daughter. Ken and the Ability Center totally came through for us. We have a beautiful new 2022 Toyota Sienna van, in our daughter's favorite color (red!). Ken worked diligently to find the vehicle with all the bells and whistles we requested and in record time. He is kind, friendly, knowledgeable, straightforward, no nonsense and experienced. We could not have asked for a better partner to help us navigate this journey. If you are ready to purchase a vehicle or just starting your research, go no further than the Ability Center and Ken Jarvis. We could not be happier.

Let me start off by letting you know I have been a certified automotive technician for 20 years.. The truck I rented was a bad experience..I was supposed to rent it for two days and I returned it after one day.. the transmission would not shift.. and it high revved the engine pass the limiter before it shifted.. and the engine valves was rattling because of it.. I decided to check the engine oil and it was low 2.5 quarts of oil. So I purchased 5w30 oil that was recommended on the engine oil cap started it and it did not help the engine noise.. I was able to move my car on a trailer I had also rented from uhual.. both i rented on 6/29/2019 at 7145 Mission Gorge Rd. I returned the trailer around 2pm of that day.. I spoke to the fella about the issue with the truck and he said that had prior complaints from other rentees.. yet it still was on the road for someone else like me.. so I did one load and tried to return it and was told there isnt another 15 ft truck. So I did another load and said forget it this truck is in bad condition.. by that time it was already about 6:30pm uhaul already closed.. and returned it the next day.. the phone number I called does not contact uhaul.. its for a repo/recovery place.. unsatisfied.. but service clerk was helpful.. lol
