U-Haul Moving & Storage of Baldwin Hills
5051 Obama Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90016, United States
The level of professionalism demonstrated by the staff at this establishment is concerning. Upon entering, I observed three employees behind the counter, two of whom appeared to be preoccupied with their cell phones. When I approached the staff member who was not engrossed in a phone, and informed him of my intention to pick up a reserved rental, I was instructed to complete the check-in process via the U-Haul app. It was perplexing to witness three employees stationed at the desk seemingly idle, while customers were expected to manage transactions independently through the app.Another customer, visibly frustrated with the inefficiency of the process, attempted to utilize the app for check-in, which further highlighted the inadequacies of the system. It took over ten minutes to download the application, log in, and navigate through the requisite prompts, delaying the rental process further.Throughout this ordeal, the conduct of the employees was far from professional. Their conversation, rife with profanity and centered around a purported rap feud between Drizzy and Kendrick Lamar, was both inappropriate and distracting.Upon finally receiving the keys to the rented vehicle, it was discovered that the additional items, namely blankets and dollies, which had been reserved in advance, were conspicuously absent. Upon raising this concern to staff, the response received was dismissive, suggesting I search the front for any available supplies. This lack of assistance and disregard for customer satisfaction was disheartening, particularly considering the commitment made through the reservation process.Furthermore, the attitude displayed by other employees in the establishment, characterized by snickering and unprofessional behavior, only served to compound the overall dissatisfaction with the experience. It is evident that the standards of professionalism at this establishment are severely lacking.I strongly advise potential customers to consider alternative rental providers, where a higher level of professionalism and customer service is upheld.

This location lacks the ability to listen to the clients needs. I placed a order via online so the page apparently losses the signal so therefore I went personally to rent a trailer. As I returned home went thru my emails realized that I made multiple orders.so called their customer service rep and had them cancel the order I placed thru the internet. The employee cancels both rental instead of just one, completely disregards what I had told them. Waste of time and unprofessional, lacks the skill of listening do not come here

I would absolutely not recommend this location to anyone, EVER and give negative stars if possible! The single staff member (manager of this location) working at this location was not helpful and very rude. We arrived to our appointment to pick up the UHaul 10 minutes earlier to ensure we could ask the appropriate questions for how to pick up and drive the UHaul since this was our first time driving one of the trucks. We paid for the truck online prior to our appointment and were then told we needed to complete the final check in process online. There was awful reception at this location and were receiving errors and rather than supporting us through the check-in process, the staff member kept telling us that we dont know how to work our phones, dont know anything, and should have been prepared (I agree, we should have been more prepared so we wouldnt have to deal with the jerk of a manager). The manager gave us short answers and was rudely hurrying us along to get us out the door so we ended up missing key details about the contract of the truck. We ended up having to look up how to use the truck on our own online to ensure we knew everything about how to drive the truck. The truck itself was fairly clean and driveable but the experience with the staff member at this UHaul location ruined our morning and added unnecessary stress to the start of our trip. I would highly recommend picking up or returning from a different UHaul location if you want to interact with kind, respectful, and helpful people.

Ashlee the worker at this uhaul wasn't helpful at all. the vehicle we received didn't have gas in it and was at less than 1/4 full. the vehicle was also damaged in many places and didn't have a battery in it because people apparently steal the batteries. when we arrived, we had to wait 15 minutes because there were no employees around. the worker that eventually helped us (ashlee) had a poor attitude and was very short when answering questions. i didn't feel like a valued customer, she made me feel like a burden. i was not happy that uhaul didn't have a vehicle available at the location i requested either. when i drove by that location later, there were many similar vehicles on the lot buy i guess they weren't available for whatever reason. on a separate note, i didn't like that uhaul contacted me to tow a loaded trailer for that pickup location so i ended up wondering if they didn't give me the truck at my requested location because i didn't accept towing their trailer. overall, i had a poor experience and will probably rent from penske next time.

I have a reservation. However, I am standing in a long line and not being given priority before the people without reservations. The people who work here did not send a text or email to notify that the computer system is down. It takes about 10 minutes uses per customer to process. Also, there is a potential for identity theft, because not only do they ask for your drivers license but they also want to photograph you with a cell phone. Some unscrupulous and enterprising lowlife can take this information and make new and fake licenses. The two inside employees also need to be sent to customer service school for at least an 8 hour a day 1 week course to learn how to deal with the public and if they refuse should be fired ( not moved around to another location) because of noncompliance. There is also no place for customers to sit who are infirmed. There were some elderly and one person receiving chemotherapy who were in line and the employees lacked awareness and sensitivity to their customers needs. The truck was also a non-smoking truck as the signs on both windows attested to. But, the smell in the truck was a combination of cigarettes and Marijuana. As I do not smoke, this was another irritation. When returning the truck, the mats in the front had footprints on them front the site I took my yard debris to. The male employee brought this to my attention and I gave him permission to levy a charge as long as he reduced the price of the rental because of it smelling of cigarettes and Marijuana. He let that line of reasoning go and then started reading my review on Google to me including my email address as if I should be nervous about him knowing what I wrote. I replied that he should give his boss my regards for passing my review on to them so quickly, which quieted him even more. There is an older gentleman who works on the outside with rentals who was very kind and sensible and informative. I hope the other two employees this Sunday learn how to act and deal with customers from him.

Not the greatest experience at all. I went here thinking that all I needed to do was rent my truck, per usual, and be gone. First, the rude woman at the front desk told me that I could not use a debit card at her location at all.Upon questioning her further, she been clarified that I could not use a debit card if I was renting out a van, but if I wanted to use the truck, I could use my debit card for that.Any customer service rep that works for U-Haul could look at my account and easily tell this woman that I have never paid a $100 security deposit for renting a U-Haul Van. However, thats what she insisted that I needed to do, I needed to pay $100 security deposit. She then try to Hard Sell the insurance for the U-Haul, claiming that I would need it for the rain, because the drivers on the road get crazy when it rains. Once I told her that I couldnt do $100, she didnt even care if I left out of the store or not.I immediately called another location, and they charged my debit card $47 for the entire fee, before I even made it to their location. They clearly need better customer service agent at this location. However, if its not broke, they dont need to fix it. I would NOT highly recommend this place to anyone that I know. There are enough attitude in Los Angeles, why do I need to come here or send my friends here to experience that?

The customer service at this location was poor. There was no greeting. I acknowledge that it was a busy morning for your staff today, but while two of the three workers available to assist the customers were outside with other customers, the one employee remaining decided to take a call and spent about 10 minutes assisting the customer on the phone.Since about 8 other customers had been waiting in line for about 25 minutes by then, the priority should have been given to the in-person customers, not the one who conveniently called in and avoided a considerably long wait. Also, no one apologized for the delay in assisting us with our business. In fact, I arrived timely to my 9:00 am pick-up appointment for a van which I had reserved yesterday. But I was finally helped at approximately 9:30am.Furthermore, the young man who received my returned van rental was not just unprofessional but insulting toward me as well. Even though the gas that I pumped after I was finished using the van showed the same fuel level as when I picked it up (if not slightly higher), he indicated that I owed an amount exceeding $9. When I questioned this, he said that the fuel level was lower than it was when I picked up the van. However, I recalled vividly seeing that the fuel level matched or exceeded that which it had at the time of pick up.He suggested that I changed the fuel level on the U-Haul questionnaire to cheat on gas. However, I was going based on the fuel level reading as indicated in my contract, which apparently varied from the level shown when I took a photo that showed current mileage and fuel level. Since I pumped gas to raise it to the level shown by the photo that I submitted, I did not understand why your employee (whose name I did not obtain--although it appeared to me that he may be of Asian descent) would insult me by suggesting that I was trying to cheat your company by stealing gas. After I explained to him that I had pumped gas at a nearby Arco gas station, he asked to see my receipt. At this point, I walked into the van, which was running on idle, and confirmed that the fluid level matched or exceeded their own when they delivered the van to me. I called him over to show him, and he indicated that he was going to let it go this time. Having been proven wrong, he reluctantly decided to charge only the amount that was due, and not a fee for additional gas.I have used U-Haul for my moving, as well as other transportation needs, multiple times. However, this unpleasant experience will compel me to consider using alternative moving companies and not recommend your business to friends, colleagues, and relatives.
