I rented a truck here for a couple hours on 5/5 and returned it that same day In perfect condition. I gave the truck directly to an employee, got my email receipt, and left. On the 15th I get a text saying I owe more money and find out that I am being held financially responsible for having the truck from 5/5-5/12 and they want about $600. I look through my emails and find that aside from my first (correct) receipt sent on 5/5 they sent me a second one with completely fraudulent charges on 5/12.I call customer service and a very kind employee reassured me that it was clearly a glitch that had actually happened to multiple people and that they would fix it. On 5/18 I get an email saying they sent me a refund but seeing as I hadn't actually been charged yet it should cancel out what charges they had heading to my account on their end.Unfortunately on the 5/24 my account was hit with the $600 charge plus a $30 late fee. At this point I am down around $630. I call customer service again and they say that someone made a mistake in refunding instead of canceling out the charge before it hit me but that I would see a refund on my account for the $600 charge next day. They also send a $30 refund for the late fee that I do see on my account that same day.It is currently 5/27 and still no refund for the original fraudulent charge of nearly $600 so I call yet again. They say that actually since it is such a large amount I need to call my bank and give a special code to them. I called my bank and am now waiting to call back Monday as they are closed and hopefully I will get my money back. While the actual employees who picked up the phone and the ones who work this location in person seem very kind and I have no anger towards them at all I just can't recommend anyone risk going through this headache. If you must use them please use a good credit card that will allow you to dispute charges easily and check your emails diligently for surprises in the weeks following your transaction. I am still down about $600 for something I didn't do and am just tired.

The representative charged us for one way without asking our preference. I had reserved same location for drop off but she changed it without telling us of the extra charges. Then when I questioned it she said it was not refundable and called HQ and told them in front of me that I reserved it that way which was not true. She gave us a truck that was stuck behind other vehicles and we couldn't get out. She then switched it for another truck that we couldn't even open the door to because of how close it was to the rest of the vehicles. Then the returning process was a nightmare. The instructions were to go to a location and call a phone number. When I got there and called they said they were not affiliated with Uhaul. I called customer service and they sent me to another location but it was after hours so they told me to drop it off and take pictures for my records and then to call the scheduling team in the morning to make sure they accepted the truck. I didn't feel comfortable doing that so instead I opted to return it in the morning at the new location. Glad I did that because in the morning the new location did not want to take it because they were full. We were so upset and told the manager that we're dropping it off there and they had to take it. She gave us attitude and took the vehicle but said that gas was not where it was supposed to be so she charged us $52 for 8 gallons. We only used 1/8 of a gallon total. They had us driving around searching for the location to drop off and had to return twice. That's unacceptable and a unfair consumer practice that I will be reporting it to the BBB.

Propane pricing scamThe only reason I brought my tanks to this U-Haul location to get filed is the discounted price of $2.49 per gallon. I just had to say its alternative fuel for a propane-powered vehicleI can have someone come to me and fill my tanks for $3.50 per gallon. Why would anyone bring their tanks to this location to be filled for $3.61 per gallon? When the average price for propane in CA is only $3.24 per gallon. This guy Ernie gives me trouble every time he fills my tanks. My tanks are only 3 years old and look new. Ernie always says my tanks are out of date and he will not give the price discount his manager told me about. The manager of this location Melissa Easley is the one that told me because my tanks are over 5 gallons and are used for a RV aka propane-powered vehicle I get a discount. Now for some reason this location and manager can pick and choose who is eligible for a discount. I should not have to start providing documentation on what Im using the propane in.With all the different replies U-Haul Customer Service has sent me I expect higher standards in training and with more consistent pricing throughout Locations, Managers and Employees.I am very disappointed in the changes this location has made. After 2 1 /2 years of being a repeat U-Haul customer Im going to look for a more reputable company to start doing business with. Somewhere that wants to keep me coming back year after year and wont treat me like Im lying about the use of my propane.

After only having the 6x12 trailer for 4 1/2hrs I returned it to the same location I picked it up from. I asked if there was anything I need to sign before leaving and was told no. Two days later I receive a call from the uhaul call center asking when I would return the trailer. Explained to them everything that transpired and they promised me it would be corrected by the next day. Three days later I get an attempted charge on my VISA for $1,297.64 from U-HAUL Moving & Storage. Thinking this was a legitimate fraud alert I told Chase I did not authorize it, hence resulting in them cancelling the card number and reissuing me a new one. I contacted uhaul customer service and was told they couldn’t get ahold of the local location but promised me it would take only 10-15min for their other team “who handles these things” to correct it and provide a receipt via email. It took nearly 5hrs to receive said email and to be properly charged $40.57.This is the first time in 21 years that my wife and I have rented any type of moving equipment from any rental company… and it is also the last time we ever do business with U-HAUL.

My friend rented a truck from them, I was the driver. After waiting forever to get the keys, one employee put a small gas can of gas in the tank. We left the yard and had barely 1/4 tank of gas, so we went to AM/PM down the street. As we were puting gas in the tank, we noticed the gas was pouring out of the bottom of the truck, $13.00 wasted. Called them and were told to call roadside assistance, who told us someone would be there in 2 1/2 hours. We took our chances and drove back to the yard, luckily they had 1 truck left, it was reserved, but they let us have it anyway. The second truck had a gas gauge that was stuck on 1/4 tank. We drove to Lodi and on our way back we put gas in the tank again, the gas guage never moved. We rushed back to Sac and emptied the truck to get it back by 7pm. We got stuck at the light next to the yard and arrived at 7:01 and they would NOT tend to us. So, we locked the truck and left it there and took the keys with us. My friend went the next morning as soon as they opened and the wanted to try to charge her for a second day and didnt want to reimburse her for the $13.00 in gas that poured on the ground in the 1st truck, even though we were told that they would. She had to fight with corporate and the store to avoid the 2nd day charge, the late fee for not getting the truck back by 7pm, and to get the $13.00 credited. This place has a major lack of communication and could use some customer service training. One of the employees told us that they have a problem with people stealing their gas and damaging their trucks and that corporate refuses to allow them to get cameras. This is not our problem and should not be treated as the customer is at fault, nor should the customer be inconvenienced due to the issue. Anyone renting from this place should be prepared for a huge hassle and long wait.

Hot. Mess. I moved from another state and I used their U-Box service. First, UHaul the company fd up by changing the location of where my property was supposed to go. They did not notify me; I had booked months in advance. I just found out on the day of picking up my stuff that my stuff wasnt there. First strike. I went 3 rounds with customer service, but they refused to move my stuff to the closer location I had agreed to. As a result, I had to cancel my other plans for the weekend because it was farther away than planned. Second strike: when I arrived, they wanted all my personal information. Of course I understand that all places ask for a drivers license and insurance, but they asked me for a TON of personal info. They even demanded that I give the phone number of someone I know, which they called and talked to the person like stalkers. So now they have the number of someone I know so they can spam them, too. Since they had my personal property, I wouldnt be able to pick it up without doing all these things. If I had known this in advance, I would have gone with a different transport service. Strike 3, the box was significantly damaged. My things were packed carefully and it didnt matter because I had to throw out a dozen things and clean up broken glass everywhere. And no, you couldnt say that my stuff was delicate, because the BOX ITSELF was damaged. There were splinters and DIRT all over the inside from the ruptured walls where the box had been banged and punctured and road dust had entered, which damaged my electronics because it seeped even into the boxes for the printer and TV. Strike 4: I talked to the manager, who did not care at all about any of it, did not bother to discuss compensation or talk improving my customer experience. WORST moving experience Ive ever had, and thats saying something.

This place has beyond horrible customer service!!!!! Over a month ago I rented a U-Haul from here. At pick up I was told there was a lock on the back of the truck but the extra key On key ring was for the lock. I assumed the employees did their job and I could start my trip. I drove 80 miles down the road to my storage unit where I found out that the lock on the back of the truck was the wrong lock. So now I had a useless truck. I was instructed by this location that I need to drive all the way back. 80 miles!!! To get the lock removed. So now I've driven 160 miles at 89 cents a mile because of their mistake. Not to mention over 50 dollars in gas. The man at the store informed me he could not do anything and a manager would be in contact with me. So now 4 hours behind schedule on my only day to move I drove back 80 miles to my storage unit and proceeded to move. The manager had not contacted me and they close in an hour. I called the service number and they left a message for the manager. Upon return I was charged for the 160 miles that I drove all due to their mistake, and I was still out the 50+ in gas. So in total close to 200 dollars charged that I should not have been responsible for along with four hours of my only day to move wasted. I called the store every day the next week trying to talk with a manager to no success. Then finally towards the end of the week an employee informed me that they would credit me for 150 dollars. That's not even the amount that I'm out due to their mistake. And as a business they should compensate for wasting four hours of my time to move. I could never talk to a manager directly so I emailed customer service. After multiple exchanges and promises that the manager would get back to me nothing has happened. I would give them the benefit of the doubt for a week and then email again. It has now been 5 weeks with multiple interactions and phone calls to no success. I have been ignored by the manager in hopes that I will disappear apparently. Do not give these thieves your hard earned money. There is no such thing as customer service at this location and I'm not sure whose running this but You can bet they will not do right by the customer and ignore any issues you may.

I needed a truck for moving some furniture to a new place. The rental was easy and quick, they even gave me more time just to be sure I didnt rush. During the move I lost a wing mirror, the staff were polite, professional, and helped me through the process of filing damage. They made what could have been a scary, expensive experience easy and manageable.Highly recommended, always get the damage waiver.

I do not recommend this location at all. After a very long day of emptying my storage unit and running around to get things done before making my 3 day drive back home, I called to verify the address of where I should go to drop off the key. The woman I spoke to gave me the address and since I was already on the phone I specifically asked if there was anything I needed to do other than bring the key back. She asked if it was cleared out and if I left the door open. I explained that it was completely cleared out, but had not left the door open. She said, Its fine so long as its cleared out. I finish up other business I had, and headed to the location I was tild to go, feeling confident everything would go smoothly. It did not. After having to wait 15 minutes for service due to many customers, which was fine, I walked to the with key in hand only to be refused. I was only now told that I must now drive all the way back to the storage unit to take what I would deem useless pictures of the empty storage unit, as they prove nothing, especially since she didnt even take the time to look at which storage unit I was taking pictures of. To make an already long day even longer, I did. When arriving back, not only did she not help me, but left another customer standing there waiting, to count boxes. Thanks UHaul for putting even more aggravation onto someones life than what was already there. Very professional. If someone asks what they need to do, next time tell them! Dont force them to drive all over town, when they already have a 3 day drive ahead of them.
