U-Haul of Torrance
24091 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90505, United States
If I could give this place zero stars I would! Horrible customer service! I'm getting ready to move into a new home and I had kept hearing from people I should go to U-haul to purchase boxes because they are very fair priced. Therefore, looked up a local U-haul store and it said they close at 7pm. I ended up leaving work and rushing to this location off of Hawthorne Blvd in the city of Torrance. As I pulled into the parking lot at 6:57pm there was an employee outside who physically motioned (literally used his hand and made the motion of “slicing his throat”) and said, “we're closed!” Now let me remind you, I was still in my car pulling into the parking space. My boyfriend got out of the car and went up to the door where another man came and said through the glass, “we're closed”. This gentleman refused to even slightly open the door to have a conversation, so my boyfriend replied,, “it's not 7:00 yet.” At this time the initial man who was outside was now back inside and both these men were saying they were closed and we're refusing to let us in. When my boyfriend said we just wanted to purchase boxes the two men continued to argue and refuse to open the door. When my boyfriend told both men we were going to write a review, one of the men looked at him and gave him a “thumbs up” as he was walking away.I myself am in the customer service industry and feel as though this was by far the worse customer service experience I have ever endured! I work for a local company and just purchased a rental from this place a couple months ago. I will no longer be giving them my business and will ensure I let everyone know in this town never to go there! These two men need to be reprimanded. I would NEVER want employees like this representing my business. I always tell me employees, “treat the business as though it was your own.” If this was their business, these two men would have welcomed the customer inside and allowed the customer to make a purchase. That purchase would have meant an extra $100- $200 in sales. However, because it's not their business, they chose to exhibit poor customer service with a careless attitude.Future reference, if you market you close at 7pm and your doors state you close at 7pm, then you should close at 7pm, not a minute sooner!
U-Haul of Old Town Torrance

Please, please, please, do yourself a favor and avoid this establishment. I simply wanted to utilize the air station for my bicycle. In the past, Ive repeatedly asked for permission yet each time It seemed like I was being silly for inquiring. So, with this in mind, I simply went right to the air pump. A gentleman immediately walked up to me and said, Cease what you are doing. This is not a gas station. In retort, I explained my previous encounters which seemed to fall on deaf in not dumb ears?!?! So after such a rude interaction, I went in to file a complaint but was informed that the rude individual in which I was complaining about was in fact the manager. So, as a last ditch effort to be the better of the two, I offered to pay a few dollars for the use of the air. The manager coldly replied as if I was asking for his first born, No. In defeat, I said, thank you, yet he remained silent and distant.I dont believe anyone should be treated as such especially as a customer. Also, not everyone who rides a bike is necessarily homeless. We might just be trying to offset the carbon dioxide imbalance! (Not that our socio-economic status should make a difference, anyways!)

I went to get boxes, I was walking after inquiring if the indeed had the sizes I needed I was told by a gentleman there were no Med. boxes, a women employee said yes there were, he said again no not any not one. She looked at me ( she was helping another customer) & said give me a moment please I will help you, I said ok. After ( witch was only a moment) she helped me. Not only did she know where one was but she knew were 40 were she helped me gather them up showed me how if you mix match the direction they take up less space helped me wrap them with my string and helped me package them in what I had brought large Ikea bags with heavy duty string to make an extra handle. She was brilliant I cant give any more than five stars but she should get 25 Stars I worked in retail for over 40 years and this woman her name is Patricia deserves some type of reward or at least acknowledgment which I hope this is doing for her this review to show that how she works and treats customers is exemplary. I need some more boxes and I will be going back to this store because of Patricia and I dont just tell people about bad experience I tell people about good experiences and trust me Ill be telling a lot of people about this store and the way Patricia made me feel comfortable and respected like people should treat each other she is by far not the normal but she should be thank you Patricia I hope we meet again the next time Im at your store.
Sonsray Inc
23935 Madison St, Torrance, CA 90505, United States
Very poorly managed company!! The owner and direct team care more about their image and perception of success then they do the inner workings of their dealerships. Lots of good quality men and women have moved on to better companies, due to lack of respect and lost loyalty. Sonsray likes to claim they're a family business, but only for certain families within the business. They encourage shady behaviors, sneaky sales deals and promote bad employees to upper management positions that never provide any real benefit. They treat their hourly and salary employees like their replaceable and just a number!! Thanks for showing me how much better a other companies truly are!!

Public Storage

Good Customer Service. The facility looks so much nicer inside and out., Also, there could be some improvements:1. The DRIVEWAY has alot of potholes and cracks, it should be repaired. It is so old.2. They could of done a better job on fixing the floor inside the storage, it doesnt look that great. Good job on getting more carts.3. They shouldnt allow any pets.4. They should paint the lines where the park campers, trucks, cars pay to stay.So they can stay within there lines. So whomever can park in between to go into the buildings. I witness a big truck trying to get out, and he had to back out several times and it took him over 10-15 minutes, due to a truck and a big boat in the way, he could of gone out the front gate.5. The GATES should be replaced, they at times dont open or close properly.6. GOOD JOB on making the bathroom bigger, but the TOILET SEAT keeps coming off.?Also leaving it unlocked for more convienance, without a key each time. Please sweep for nails, I have gotten so many flat tires, and have picked up so many nails. The contruction people were so careless. Please dont raise the rates, it is great where it is for now.
Life Storage - Torrance
19106 Normandie Ave, Torrance, CA 90502, United States
I have been a customer of Life Storage in Torrance since 2011. My monthly rate went from $90 to $210, at which point I decided to move to a smaller unit elsewhere. I love the location but I needed to downsize and they didn't have any units available that met my needs. My interaction with the staff was minimal but I did notice when I needed to speak to someone by phone, it was difficult to reach anyone or get a return call back. I checked out of my unit today and was helped by Erica. At first, she sounded curt and unfriendly, but after she realized that I am a long-term customer and wasn't intimidated by her, she warmed up and was quite nice. I reported to her an unpleasant interaction with a cleaning person named DONOVAN. He was very rude and had a superior, mightier-than-thou attitude. I was preparing my storage so I can vacate it the following day. He was unhappy that we had stuff on the aisle and he had to go to the next aisle. He told us, with an authoritative tone of voice, that we needed to keep the aisle clear so other renters can pass by. There was no one around at that time! We cleared a path and he passed by a couple of times to make sure we were in compliance. That is no way to treat a customer!
Live 100 Moto UTV Rentals
22933 Adolph Ave, Torrance, CA 90505, United States
I picked up riding motos about 9 months ago. starting small on a kart track, riding an ovale and graduating up to a husqvarna fs450 in the summer. we ride every weekend in dfw, as the weather allows. all that to say, i'm very new to the sport. hailing from riverside and returning for the holidays presented the perfect opportunity to try a new track and get in some lessons. my husband and i signed up for two schools, live 100 moto being the second of the two. the first was pretty ok and gave me the chance to get to know the adams kart track well enough, but live 100 was top-notch and exactly what we were after in a school. jameel and his team are professionals. his instructions were well thought out, structured, but also excellent for all levels of riders. my husband being much more advanced, plus the other riders and i gave jameel the gamut of students. it was a full day of riding, learning, progressing, laughing, and grinning from ear to ear. now that i'm back in texas, i'm working to apply the lessons i learned and seeing great progress in my riding that i would not have seen without jameel's expert, knowledgeable instruction. i will definitely call on him again. i only wish i could wrangle him into coming out to my home track in texas! :D
AAA Torrance Insurance and Member Services
23001 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance, CA 90505, United States
In February 2017 a taxi driver sped up thru a yellow light and lost control of his car and hit and totaled my car. I had to replace my car, which thanks to driving fully registered and legal and with insurance I was able to do. BUT I never received the DMV paperwork to REGISTER my new car. I paid 269.00 bucks to transfer a 2004 car and have a 2004 car smogged. That is exorbitant! Oh it gets better. I call AAA, 1,2, 3, 4 different times as I THOUGHT my registration due date was coming and thought my form would come in the mail...it NEVER did. I was told on a Friday that the fee would be 143.00 on my 4th phone call. I went in the following Monday and they wanted 183!!!. I was not pleased to say the least. After a lot of duh, we cant no control or know what DMV cost is I stormed out. Finally after writing a 2 page letter to the DMV explaining the problem, the last 6 cars I owned which NEVER had a late fee, I got a letter on a Saturday and went to pay said balance on the following MONDAY at AAA. Duh we no can accept the DMV paperwork So now I have to mail the DMV the check for the amount THEY SPECIFIED, rather than wait 3 hours at the DMV locale or deal with AAAs impotence at being able to honor the DMV paperwork. The youtube complaint re this nonsense will be epic.
Lions Automotive
340 Van Ness Ave Suite A, Torrance, CA 90501, United States
Brought my van in due to engine lights on dash. I had run a code check twice personally, once actually right before I brought the van in to confirm what the code was and research the possible issues associated with the code.First off, Lions Automotive shows up as a AAA approved repair shop which is suppose to offer members a 10% discount and repair warranties up to 24 months/24,000 miles. I asked about the AAA discount and they tell me they give the warranty but not the discount, which is against what the AAA website shows.I have to sign something that says that there is a ~$150 diagnostic fee if I do not get my van repaired there.I get a call telling later in the day that the code is not showing up and they need to charge me to try and recreate the code. I know the code was showing up before I brought the van in and I know I did not erase the code. I told them what the code was and they said the would check the couple areas that code is indicating there is an issue. I get a call back at the end of the day that they could not finish and would like the car over night. They tell me which part they believe needs to be replaced and I agree to have it replaced.I come to pick up my car to find out they did NOT remove the diagnostic fee by having the repair done there. They still charged me the diagnostic fee. They also charged me $220 for the part. I called around and the most expensive dealer price for a dealer part I found was $180. There is a NAPA auto shop down the street from the shop that had the Denso part that was installed on my van for $150. Car repair shops do not pay full retail for parts, they get discounts.I have no complaints about the quality of work done, but I do have issues with them charing a diagnostic fee when they said it would not be charged if I had repairs done there. I have an issue with the absorbent amount charged for the part and that they are still a AAA certified repair shop and cherry pick which benefits (no 10% discount) to offer their customers.
Solid Torrance Roofing
4840 W 190th St #42, Torrance, CA 90503, United States
Reached out to this roofing business to mend a minor patch of the roof that had been poorly fixed by a previous roofer. The representative, Tristan, arrived earlier than the scheduled time for our initial meeting and satisfactorily answered all my queries. Although the norm is a two-week wait for the office to set up the appointment for the actual repair work, my job was scheduled for the very next day, 15 days after the quote appointment. Donovan, the roofer who conducted the repair, was punctual and assisted me in photographing the damage that the prior roofer failed to rectify. The repair came with a one-year warranty for the concerned area. The repair work has been holding up well so far. I would, without hesitation, recommend this roofing service to others in Torrance.
