Dropped my truck off on Thursday while I was on home time for warranty work. I figured they had plenty of time to have it done by Tuesday. Then I found out they werent 24 hours service department and closed on weekends. I had 5 issues. A\C was inoperable, idler pulley squealing, windshield leaking when it rains, oil pushing out of power steering reservoir and the engine brake not shutting off with clutch operation while shifting gears. Communication is severely lacking at this dealership and trying to call them is futile. Rings and rings! Out of the five problems. two were fixed, Supposedly, time will tell. The A/C and Idler pulley were finished and claimed under warranty. The power steering was blamed on a bad filter that the seal was pushed out of, Customer Pay! not covered under warranty. They couldnt get the windshield to leak so I was charged an hours labor, yet when it rains, I have to throw towels on the dash to soak the water up with, and they said the engine brakes was working accordingly, so again, 1 hours labor. So, to recap, they kept my truck for 6 days, repaired 2 out of 5 issues, charged me over 300 dollars for a Cascadia that has an extended warranty on it, and caused me to turn down one of my loads because my truck wasnt ready!I am tired of being abused at Freightliner dealerships! Constantly costing me money for repairs that are not being repaired! Will NOT bring my truck back to this Freightliner! Will find one out California, Really disgusted right now!

I made a reservation with this company on 12/14/23. I returned the vehicle on 12/15/23.Instead of doing a walkthrough/walk around of the vehicle, I was told they would just send a receipt. I never received a receipt from that location. I received one from a customer service representative I talked to when I tried to call the local company this morning. Later on yesterday evening I remembered I left a nice looking cooler filled with others stuff(hair products, cologne, first aid products, cleaning supplies, a shredder ) in the truck. This morning I called immediately once they opened and I was told by the manager, Ernesto Menburu, “someone threw it in the trash.” I asked was that their policy and to show me something in writing he couldn't. I asked why I wasn't notified? He that he couldn't call every single person that leaves stuff. I'm unsure if it's writing but prior to people leaving, a walk around and a review of the miles and the truck should be conducted prior to the customer leaving. Ultimately this company is stealing people's belongings. Even if someone left trash in the truck intentionally, at the time the truck is returned, a cleaning fee could be charged.I don't think that's Uhaul's policy, I think the managers and personnel at this specific location aren't doing the right thing.I would not recommend going to this location and a review of how business is being conducted should be reviewed.

This commentary is regarding the staff at 2495 Hotel Circle Place San Diego, CA 92108. I had rented a truck and a car hauler from U Haul to be picked up at this location. I picked up the truck in the morning and was to return later to pick up the car hauler after loading the truck. Our plans were delayed and it was getting close to closing time so I called customer service. Customer service stated they contacted the office and they would prefer we got there by 6pm (closing time) but someone would be there for a few minutes if we were late. We pulled in at 6:04pm, the gate was open, and another person was looking over a truck they just picked up. A gentleman in the lot as I approached ran to his personal vehicle as I asked him about picking up the car hauler that happen to be right in front of me he waived his hand in my face and abruptly said “Closed, We Closed” I tried to ask him for consideration and he said “my time we closed”. I picked up my phone to call customer service and while on the phone the employee proceeded to try to move vehicles around in the lot so he could drive off. My vehicle was in the middle of the drive, which was frustrating him immensely. He then got in my vehicle; unwelcomed of course and tried to drive off in my truck. I grabbed the keys; he then proceeded to try to intimidate me by backing another truck towards mine and finally stopped when he hit my truck. All of this occurred while on the phone with customer service. By this time customer service found me another location with the same equipment. I got my wife in the truck safely who was terrified by this point and we proceeded to leave for the other location. At which point the employee spun out of the gravel lot sliding to a stop in the street in front of me because he had to go back and shut the gate. This was a horrific experience. I would strongly urge all that consider renting from U Haul to go out of your way to avoid using this location. This individual, could not speak or understand English, clearly does not embrace the concept of customer service, has total disregard for personal property and personal safety. If you choose not to heed this warning be prepared to be verbally and physically assaulted at this location. If there was an award for the “Absolute Worst U Haul Experience” this would be it.
Dirt Cheap Car Rental
3860 Rosecrans St, San Diego, CA 92110, United States
My girlfriend and i recently decided to spontaneously fly to LA and visit San Diego. We are both students, and dont have a large income.I am SO thankful that i found Dirt Cheap Car Rental on google. We needed a car with a good MPG rating, that didnt need to be the newest possible model and wouldnt cost us an arm and a leg. I browsed through offers of many other car rental agencies near the airport and old town area. For the 8 days that i was going to be needing a car in SD the price i would have had to pay, at a larger car rental agency, was on average around 750$ (with insurance included). This only being my second time ever having rented a car, i wasnt sure if this price was reasonable, however it was definitely too high for my budget.I decided to give this company a try because of their great amazon reviews and their practical location in old town. I am so glad i did.I ended up being able to rent a 2016 Kia Rio with, on average, a 30mpg rating. I was so happy and barely payed anything for gas, even though we were constantly driving around SD. For 30$ i was even able to extend my insurance and take a day trip up to Joshua Tree National Park. The car was in great shape, only a few scratches here and there.I payed around 255$ for the 8 day rental (with insurance included!) - awesome!!!The customer service was great, returning the car went quickly.I will absolutely rent from this agency again! A well deserved 5 stars.

Let me start off by letting you know I have been a certified automotive technician for 20 years.. The truck I rented was a bad experience..I was supposed to rent it for two days and I returned it after one day.. the transmission would not shift.. and it high revved the engine pass the limiter before it shifted.. and the engine valves was rattling because of it.. I decided to check the engine oil and it was low 2.5 quarts of oil. So I purchased 5w30 oil that was recommended on the engine oil cap started it and it did not help the engine noise.. I was able to move my car on a trailer I had also rented from uhual.. both i rented on 6/29/2019 at 7145 Mission Gorge Rd. I returned the trailer around 2pm of that day.. I spoke to the fella about the issue with the truck and he said that had prior complaints from other rentees.. yet it still was on the road for someone else like me.. so I did one load and tried to return it and was told there isnt another 15 ft truck. So I did another load and said forget it this truck is in bad condition.. by that time it was already about 6:30pm uhaul already closed.. and returned it the next day.. the phone number I called does not contact uhaul.. its for a repo/recovery place.. unsatisfied.. but service clerk was helpful.. lol
Sun Diego Car Rental
3705 Pacific Hwy, San Diego, CA 92110, United States
When you rent through Sun Diego you are supporting a family-run business. It may not be quite run like a professional chain of car rentals, but you will receive personalized care and a much more reasonable price. We rented two 15-passenger vans for Mexico (flew into San Diego airport) for a week and all went well! At first, I was hesitant because the price was almost half of what was quoted by EZ rent-a-van and it was hard to believe. I phoned Ryan and Carlos several times to get confirmation and ask questions. Though they are closed on weekends (family time), they get the vans ready ahead of time for rental and are available by phone. The drive was 10 minutes and the vans were ready to go on a Sunday. I paid Friday by phone/credit card on Friday, signed electronically and received the rental agreement. Ryan made sure that everything was good for us. Even, when last minute someone returned one of the vans we were going to use, damaged -- he got a replacement ready quickly. The vans themselves were fine - actually a relief that they werent new - so we felt comfortable travelling in them. One did have a light come on that lasted, but it wasnt serious. We fit 15 persons and put luggage in a truck. Otherwise, its ideal to have 11 passengers and then room for luggage in the last bench. We drove 3 hours from the border into the hills past Ensenada and that was fine with the Company. After our trip, we dropped the vans off on a Sunday and put the keys in the box. That was it! We will definitely be using Sun Diego Car Rental again and are grateful that the two vans fit right into our non-profit budget!

Deceptive business practice. STRONGLY RECOMMEND against using U-Haul, this is how much they value your patronage or how much they keep their promises with you, as the email that confirmed my reservation noted.I made a reservation a month in advance for a Vanbody storage unit to hold everything my family owns after moving in from out of state. I dropped by the day our reservation started to make sure everything was ready to go for our anticipated delivery the next day. I was told that our reservation would not be honored, as per their corporate policy, it had been allowed to be rented out to somebody else AFTER we made the reservation. The staff were friendly and apologetic about the corporations unethical and probably illegal business practice (note the settled class action lawsuit in the state of CA from about a decade ago), however they were unable to offer a similar volume storage unit ANYWHERE in the county. My familys belongings are now sitting in a truck in a parking lot, and I was offered no compensation in terms of assistance booking with a different company, company credit to rent equipment to try and un-f*** the situation they created, or even a cash compensation.Of note, they never ONCE contacted us to let us know they had given away our reservation. They even remarked that normally they try to call the day before if this is going to happen (clearly its a frequent business practice), but in this case they forgot about us. If I had not gone by the day our reservation started to confirm everything was good to go, an entire moving truck would have shown up the next day with nowhere to unload our belongings.Of course we would not have even bothered booking this reservation if we had known they had no intent of honoring it. I strongly recommend you pass on any U-Haul service.

Honestly if can give no 0stars I would Latherio Hoffman shouldn't be working in customer service. June 24th around 6pm when I thought I did a reservation there. Everyone was busy. But Mr Hoffman was busy cleaning his car and smoking a black&mild (cigarette) right outside the door. Came to help me after I was inside for the past 10 minutes. He was very short answer and not explain why my reservation didn't go through. He was getting annoyed and rolling his eyes and giggling. He didn't care. Until Gerald stepped in and said I'm sorry for the inconvenience we unfortunately don't have anything under my name and that the system didn't reserve for me. He recommended me to go to national city uhual because they have them there. I did another reservation the following week July 1st same place at, where I had the terrible incident with Latherio Hoffman because it was a convenient place for me. MrHoffman tried to be nice this time but he wasn't listening to me. I picked up 7/1/23 6:15pm told mr hoffman I needed the uhual for 24hrs. He wrote return time 3:15pm on 7/2/23. He charge me 35 miles when I told him 28 miles. And I asked him if can do anything about the mileage cost for the inconvenience from the last week and said “nah “ I didn't argue and took what ever because nothing good would come out of arguing with him. Terrible customer service by Latherio Hoffman. He should work somewhere that doesn't involve people.

Terrible UHaul! The customer agent treated me horribly and I was harassed and disrespected. I felt poorly for the rest of the day after my experience. As well, the pickup truck I rented was filthy dirty with the windshield covered in a cloudy, white film that was difficult to see through and needed cleaning.i reserved a pickup truck at the Midway UHaul. the day before my pick up date, i received an email informing me my reservation had been changed to a 24/7 Truck Share rental. I immediately called UHaul reservations to inquire and the agent was unable to offer an answer. My reservation was changed back to an instore pickup at the Midway location for the next day.I arrived on time for my pick up and found the UHaul agent to be immediately unfriendly and he seemed further displeased after i gave him my name. He then started to give me a hard time about my out-of-town phone number, insisting i provide a local phone number with which i could be contacted 24/7 even though I do not live in California. When i explained that i have an account and ive rented from UHaul many times using my home number without ANY problems, he simply stated he was doing his job. He further commented that if i didnt want to go through this process, that i should complete the rental using the app and not through him. Throughout our transaction, he stated this multiple times. My daughter then arrived and i was forced to provide her phone number which he phoned to verify on the spot. THIS WAS STILL NOT ENOUGH!! the agent then INSISTED i provide a THIRD phone number for him to call and verify. When i offered my other daughters Canadian phone number, the agent told me i would need yet ANOTHER 4th phone number for verification!!! My 2 daughters and I stood absolutely livid. The guy had my drivers license, credit card, phone number and had me and my family standing in front of him and it was not enough. Never have i been so harrassed in all my previous UHaul rentals. Completely maddening! and a waste of our precious time!In desperation to have our rental truck, we were forced to provide my daughters roommates phone number. She also was called on the spot and was asked to verify our identities as we all stood waiting. When we finally received the keys to the rental truck, we found it to be filthy dirty unlike the trucks weve previously rented. What a horrifying experience for us to endure. We felt harassed and completely disrespected by the UHaul agent who was clearly lazy and did not want to do his job, preferring to force customers to complete their rentals through the app and not through him.I would NEVER recommend this location and I will NEVER rent from the Midway location EVER again!

ABSOLUTELY, Poor customer service. I was really disappointed after waiting in line, getting a lecture & tongue lashing on why I didnt use the app to check in. On top of all that Ajoy the name of the girl checking me in for a uhaul truck tries to force me to use the app to check myself in after I already waited in line & told her I didnt have service in the store. Then she proceded to tell me to go outside for service &check myself in for my rental.. I told her I already waited in line, im not going outside to keep checking &moving about for cell service..Then the bigger FAT heavy lady chimed in stating they cudnt help me because I started my registration on line.. Im going back in fourth wit these fn clowns over sum damn cell service ..finally after all that, the price quoted for my rental total was not the price showing up on the signature screen & Ajoy was unable to explain the huge difference in price to hold on my credit card & instructs me to sign the electronic rental agreement with the different quoted price! Then Ajoy tells me the electronic screen sum times freezes on the previous transaction, im thinkn by this point is she serious?? I asked this chic, so u want me to sign a rental agreement for sumone elses transaction?? Ajoy tells me that its not going to charge my card, jus hold the amount..I REFUSED to sign the electronic rental agreement with the incorrect quoted price. After she saw I wasnt budging or leaving without that truck, she printed out a hard copy rental agreement with the correct quoted price..I have no idea, why this chic was trying top get me to sign the wrong quote for a hold.. & it seems they gave me the most BEATup truck on the lot.. Ajoy &the huge FAT chic had the nerve to try & intimidate me in buying the fn insurance..telling me they dont bill third parties for damages..I dont giv a rats azz!that truck had soo many dents, scratches, scuffs throughout the entire outside body of the truck..I did my walk around inspection & documented all of it!...the inside cabin was not clean, there was ketchup on the cup holders & front dash area. I brought it to Joses attention who did the inspection..all he said was u wont b charged for that..Damn RIGHT I wont! It took me over an hour to finally leave with my rental truck ..uuugghhhh..Worst experience with Uhaul!!
